Monday, anime the game, Anima: Song of the Abyss, was announced for 2027, Solarpunk releases on Monday, and a PS1-era-inspired RPG, Full Circle, was announced. Tuesday, Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy showed off more lesbian horror. Which, literally, would just be men. Wednesday, Sony hosted a State of Play, and I can finally talk about the fact that I played Rayman Legends Retold. Thursday, Humble Bundle for June has a couple of decent offerings, including Octopath Traveller II and Citizen Sleeper 2.

Moving on to the Epic Games Store, and it is another double bill on PC to close out the MEGA sale, so I think we’ll start with Rogue Waters. Developed by Ice Code Games and published by Tripwire Presents, Rogue Waters was released in 2024 with decent reviews for the tactical turn-based Rogue-lite RPG, but recent reviews denote a different tone. Noted in recent reviews as being last updated back in 2025 with “game-breaking bugs” still present, you can see a point. Though it might also be worth noting you aren’t going to get a world-beating Rogue-ish experience here over other options either.

The second offering is another 2024 turn-based option, but one that is generally praised overall. Songs of Conquest was developed by Lavapotion and published by Coffee Stain Publishing, with new DLC (“Yulan”) to flog as of today, hence its inclusion. After a 2-year period in early access, the turn-based fantasy boasts a decent amount of praise for its influences being reimagined and updated to modern sense and sensibilities. Including player-created campaigns to easily share, a map maker, and of course, that art style that is more inviting than the jagged pixel sprites of an early Heroes of Might and Magic era of such RPGs.

The third offering via mobile this week is a 2021 crafting adventure from Alientrap, Wytchwood. Back in 2022, Alexx did a review for the Switch port, saying: “Most of the quests are fetch quests[;] you either go and get ingredients to make a potion that lets you solve a problem, or you go and do various tasks, which may require you to use the Witch’s spells and potions to solve puzzles. In essence, it is a lot of crafting, material harvesting, rinse and repeat.” Noting that he did enjoy it, even if it wouldn’t win many awards for what it does.

All this week, you can pick up Rogue Waters, Songs of Conquest, and Wytchwood, the former two on PC and the latter on mobile, until the 11th of June. On to next week, and it is another double bill of things you probably don’t care about. The Ouroboros King is a Chess game but made into another godforsaken Rogue-lite because we clearly need another one of those; something I could say about the other offering, but then Henry Cavill will kill me. The other offering is Warhammer 40K Speed Freeks, a car combat game in the Warhammer universe. Indeed.
