Solarpunk releases on GamePass next week

This year’s “major” releases have become a bit of a mess, to say the least. With that three-letter goliath at the end of the year, Faux-E3 this coming weekend, and every game trying to find space between everything else, major releases are also trying to find space. Well, it seems that Cyberwave, rokaplay, and Metaroot have said, “to hell with all that waiting business,” and are releasing one of the few survival open-world crafting games I have been interested in next week. Thanks for that, I’m not busy at all.

However, alongside its release on all current-gen platforms, Solarpunk will be released for Xbox GamePass on launch too. Here is what the press release had to say about it on Friday:

“Indie publisher rokaplay and indie developer Cyberwave have announced that their peaceful survival adventure Solarpunk will launch on Xbox Game Pass. Revealed during the Cozy Game Awards, Solarpunk launches June 8, 2026, and will be available via Xbox Game Pass, alongside Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG, as well as PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2.

Solarpunk invites players to build a peaceful life high above the clouds in a vibrant world powered by renewable energy, whether playing solo or alongside friends in four-player co-op. Created by a passionate two-person development team, the cosy survival adventure has quickly captured the attention of players worldwide with its relaxing blend of farming, crafting, automation, airship exploration, and sky-high base-building, delivering an uplifting survival experience unlike any other.”

Put aside the fact that another showcase, or in this case, an awards show, had about as much fanfare as a fart in a library; I am excited to go hands-on with Solarpunk starting next week. Solarpunk releases for PlayStation, Xbox Series X|S (and GamePass), Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG next Monday, the 8th of June.
