Malapata Studio announces Switch release of Book Nook

Malapata Studio, developer of Camper Van: Make it Home, announced their latest project, Book Nook, a little while ago. However, they have recently revealed that the cozy diorama creator won’t just be coming to PC.

Book Nook will be coming to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, giving owners of the hybrid consoles another cozy game to look forward to. Book Nook is slated to be released by the end of the year, but there’s no official release date just yet. Here is what the press release says about the announcement:

“Malapata Studio has confirmed the launch of their next game, Book Nook, on Nintendo Switch, and compatible with Nintendo Switch 2, aside from [sic] PC. After they announced the game in the Wholesome Direct last June, now the team behind the acclaimed Camper Van: Make It Home will also make the owners of Nintendo’s hybrid console happy.

This announcement comes with a new trailer where we can see more of Book Nook, a satisfying game with puzzle elements that speaks about the experience of building with your own hands. Piece by piece, Book Nook invites you to build small corners full of life. Placing furniture, accessories[,] and small details until everything comes together. Letting yourself get carried by the peace that comes with creating something, and discovering how each diorama takes you to a special memory. With a carefully crafted aesthetic and a paused experience, it incorporates puzzle elements that make the assembly process the heart of the game.”

I love the calm, peaceful, meditative experience of games like this. Being able to just relax and enjoy things falling into place is a special kind of cozy. Here’s hoping that Book Nook’s release date will come soon, so we can all enjoy Malapata Studio’s latest project.
