Newly Reimagined EverQuest Remake Launches on PC

For the launch and initial run of its original release, EverQuest was the name in online MMORPGs. A roaring success and the first MMORPG developed in a 3D game engine, playing the game in 1999 felt like a new chapter for PC gaming and the entertainment medium as a whole. Now, an exciting return to the world of Norrath is launching with single-player experiences in mind, along with plenty of quality-of-life updates. Here’s the latest on the newly released EverQuest Legends.

EverQuest Legends is a newly reimagined version of classic EverQuest from its original release in 1999. Featuring all the magic and nostalgia of the original game, the game is loaded with quality-of-life updates from the release that is now more than 25 years old. EverQuest Legends has also been designed from the ground up to appeal to players who enjoy playing their games solo. If you’re eager to squad up, however, don’t worry; groups of up to 4 players and raids of up to 8 players are available.

Something I particularly love about this reimagining is the effort to sustain its original charm. While EverQuest Legends fits nicely with modern gaming styles and habits, a lot of its original fabric is maintained, including the original art style, graphics, zones, spell effects, loot, and music. The game launches at $19.99 USD, which includes a one-month subscription. After the first month, a recurring monthly subscription is required and will cost $9.99 USD. Daybreak Games and independent development studio Game Jawn plan to release updates and DLC for the experience in the coming months.

With 15 available races and 560 possible class combinations, there’s so much variety to the time players spend in EverQuest, and I’m excited to jump back in myself.
