Well, folks, it’s early October. You know what that means: We’re in that weird time of year between fulfilling our obligation to wake up Billie Joe Armstrong and when Mariah Carey is fully defrosted for the season to wreak havoc on shopping centers worldwide with that accursed song. In the meantime, there are positive things like Halloween, more agreeable weather, and the tenth Humble Choice bundle of 2026. That bundle is live now and will be available until Tuesday, November 3rd, 2026. As is tradition, we’ve got a selection of eight Steam games and an IGN Plus subscription. Let’s begin!
I hope you’ve swabbed the deck, me hearties, because starting us off this month is Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. Developed by RGG Studio and published by Sega, Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is a continuation of the Like a Dragon franchise, which itself is a sibling series to the Yakuza franchise. To its credit, Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii does exactly what it says on the tin: You’ll “embark on an over-the-top, modern-day pirate adventure with an ex-yakuza, now pirate captain & his crew” as you “engage in exhilarating combat on land and sea.” Yar-har, fiddle dee dee, plunder awaits us all in Hawaii!
Perhaps one of the treasures you can find while plundering in Hawaii could be a crown – Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, that is, developed and published by Ubisoft. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown will expect players to “dash into a stylish and thrilling action-adventure platformer set in a mythological Persian world where the boundaries of time and space are yours to manipulate.” You know, if the titular Persian royalty can manipulate space and time effectively as much as he likes, you’d think that would make it a lot easier for him to find his lost crown, but apparently not.
There I go again, ruining suspension of disbelief with my obsessive pragmatism. Perhaps that tendency of mine is a sign that I ought to have my brain examined, in which case it’s a good thing Psychonauts 2 is up next. Developed and published by Double Fine Productions, “Psychonauts 2 is a platform-adventure game with cinematic style and tons of customizable psychic powers” that combines “quirky missions and mysterious conspiracies.” I feel like now wouldn’t be the best time to mention I own both Psychonauts games, but haven’t played either of them yet. Perhaps this bundle will motivate me to finally do so.
Oh, now here’s a game I could talk about for quite some time! Game number four is Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, developed by Funday Games and published by Ghost Ship Publishing. As you’ve likely figured out, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is a survivor-like spin-off of the original Deep Rock Galactic. In DRG: Survivor, you’re forced to fly solo as one of the classes from the original as you work through layers of your chosen biome, working toward your ultimate goal. If you’re curious about DRG: Survivor, I’ll just point you to my review rather than rehashing my past rambling about it.
Game number five this time around is Cataclismo, developed by Digital Sun and published by Hooded Horse. Cataclismo presents itself as a “real-time strategy game with resource management, siege defense, and exploration.” You’ll need to “design and build fortresses brick by brick to stand against endless hordes of Horrors” as you “lead from the ramparts, push back the darkness, and hold fast against the creatures of the Mist.” Hang on, didn’t the creatures of the Mist only properly appear a couple of years after the Cataclismo? Oh, wait, no, never mind. I’m just thinking of World of Warcraft expansions again.
Game number six onstage this month is Dungeons and — wait for it — Degenerate Gamblers. I know some of you thought I was about to say Dungeons and Dragons, but put away your D20s and character sheets; you’ve got some gambling to do. Developed by Purple Moss Collectors and published by Yogscast Games, Dungeons and Degenerate Gamblers describes itself as a “Blackjack Rogue-like adventure” in which you’ll have to “battle your way through a seedy tavern filled with gambling addicted townspeople” and use everything “from aces and face cards to tarot cards, business cards and more” to “create your unique deck to beat the house.”
Our penultimate offering this month is Asgard’s Fall – Viking Survivors, developed by Soulpotion and published by Assemble Entertainment. Asgard’s Fall – Viking Survivors purports to be a “Norse Survivors-like Roguelite” in which you’ll “fight your way through hordes of creatures and let the gods feel your relentless wrath. How will your saga unfold?” I’d say this is a fitting entry to this bundle in honor of Leif Eriksson Day. However, for the sake of transparency, I want to mention that Asgard’s Fall – Viking Survivors currently has “mixed” reviews on Steam. If that makes you turn your longship away from this one, that’s fair enough.
Last up this month is another game that currently has “mixed” reviews on Steam: Toy Shire, developed by Bluespy Studios (they’ve already breached our defenses!) and published by Catoptric Games (whose name I always think I misspelled). Toy Shire has one question for you: “Are you prepared for a thrilling toy army tower defense adventure?” If so, then “welcome to the Toy Shire!” You’ll need to “battle diverse foes in various locations, defend your family, and repel foes from your area” in order to “save the world by strengthening your defense with toy towers!” I’ll be back when November’s bundle is up, folks!
