Monday, the game sequel to the ending of The Incredibles got an update. Tuesday, Combolands is from the designer of Terra Nil, Metro 2039 is influenced by the Russian invasion, as the original writer is wanted by Russia, and of all weeks to be announced, there is a new game set during the Catholic Reformation. Wednesday, I nearly killed someone, Dosa Divas is out now, there is a new-old Warhammer game, and it turns out Crimson Desert is a Black Forest gateau. Thursday, Hades 2 launched on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, while Death by Scrolling is coming to consoles.
Onto the Epic Games Store for this week, and it is just a double bill, praise be to overly tanned doctors, I guess. I think we’ll start with the mobile offering because it’s been available through Amazon Prime before, I am sure, Broken Sword – Shadow of the Templars: Reforged. Originally released in 1996, before the invention of dust, this redone version sends you back in time before Assassin’s Creed oversaturated the whole Knights Templar business, and people pretended to like Dan Brown books to seem interesting. A fine little adventure thing that could work on mobile.

Moving on to the second offering, this one for PC and rightfully so, given its stealth-tactics isometric nature, The Stone of Madness. Originally released last January and developed by Blasphemous developer The Game Kitchen, The Stone of Madness sees you trying to escape a Jesuit monastery in 18th-Century Spain bordering France. When I say it is a monastery, it is more like a prison for the mentally ill. An asylum with extra Jesus stuff, and I don’t need to explain the illusion I’m making there. I like the style, I like the art, but I just think the gameplay can be a bit clunky for stealth tactics.
All this week, you can pick up The Stone of Madness on PC and Broken Sword – Shadow of the Templars: Reforged on the Epic Games Store for mobile via iOS in the EU and Android worldwide. Onto next week, and it might be another one of those double bills I’m less annoyed about, as we only know about Muro Studios’ 2023 release DOOMBLADE. DOOMBLADE is a weird little metroidvania with what can only be described as a unique art style. I don’t know that I like it, though.
