PS5 and Xbox Series X Hades 2 Launch Update Out Now

If you’ve played Hades 2, you know that the game, like its predecessor, is massive. From voiced dialogue to permutations in the gameplay experience, there are hundreds of hours of content in the game. Now, as it launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, there’s even more to do. Of course, one element of the game players love is the romance system, and that is one of the many areas of player experience getting a boost and improvement to coincide with the arrival of two new console ecosystems. Here’s what we know about the latest patch notes for the PS5 and Xbox Series X Hades 2 launch update.

According to the patch notes, one of the major additions to the new Hades 2 update is a streamlined dating system. For starters, characters with whom Melinoë can have non-Platonic relations may occasionally express interest in continuing them. This takes a little guessing out of things if you’re playing spoiler-free. Not to mention, you can now gift items to just about everyone. Crossroads characters now can be gifted Bath Salts, Twin Lures, or Ambrosia indefinitely after forging a bond with them, in various brief new scenes. These elements are far from the only appeal of Hades 2, but they are a fun way to break up the stressful sessions trying to run through the Underworld.

Other additions, including prophecies about characters such as Odysseus and Arachne now having new narrated conclusion scenes, are sort of staggering considering how huge this game feels already. I loved my time with the game on Nintendo Switch 2, and it’s wild to say that after dozens of hours, I’m still not close to completing the experience. I find it’s the perfect title to jump into when I have choice paralysis with my library and backlog. Now, PlayStation and Xbox players can get in on the fun as well.
