Since Crimson Desert’s release, Pearl Abyss has been hard at work fixing bugs and taking in player feedback. The release has been a success as well, with the game reaching acclaim from multiple publications. However, now it seems that Crimson Desert has reached a milestone worth celebrating.

Pearl Abyss announced this morning that Crimson Desert has sold over 5 million copies worldwide. This comes alongside praise for the game’s visuals as well as the open world the Pearl Abyss team crafted. Here is what the press release says about the game and its milestone:

“Pearl Abyss today announced that its open-world action-adventure title, Crimson Desert, has surpassed 5 million copies sold worldwide, marking a significant milestone for the company and further solidifying its position as a global leader in game development.

Crimson Desert has been widely praised by both critics and players for its stunning visuals powered by Pearl Abyss’ proprietary BlackSpace Engine, its richly detailed open world, and its dynamic, immersive combat system.

And thanks to strong player engagement, with a peak of 276,261 concurrent players on Steam since release, Pearl Abyss has unveiled a preview of upcoming updates that address player feedback and include further improvements. These include expanded gameplay, gameplay refinements, and system enhancements scheduled from April through June, aimed at enhancing the overall player experience.

Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure game developed by Pearl Abyss, aiming for a global release on console and PC platforms. With plenty of upcoming updates in mind, it seems that Pearl Abyss sees a bright future for Crimson Desert. I haven’t checked it out yet, but I’ll admit that it has definitely been on my list. Here’s hoping that fans enjoy all the content Crimson Desert offers.
