Everybody expects me to begin this article with a Monty Python reference! Too bad I usually fall short of most people’s expectations. Anyway, Fulqrum Publishing has announced their upcoming joint venture with developer edyan.dev by the name of Inquisitor Simulator, which will require players to “[p]repare to pass judgment where certainty is rare, evidence is questionable, and the stakes may be spiritually catastrophic.” Inquisitor Simulator’s release date is listed as the ever-frustrating “coming soon” as of this article’s publication, though you can wishlist it on Steam now if you’re interested. Here’s what a press release says about Inquisitor Simulator:

“Inquisitor Simulator [is] a darkly humorous simulation game, coming to PC and consoles, putting players in charge of an inquisitorial monastery tasked with identifying, containing, and, when in doubt, enthusiastically purging supernatural threats. In a world where not everything is evil and not everything is human, players must rely on faith, instinct, and occasionally wild guesswork. Use a wide array of interrogation techniques, sacred rituals, and creative problem-solving tools to uncover the truth. Whether through careful deduction or persuasive encouragement, you’ll decide who is innocent, who is guilty, and who is about to become extremely cooperative.
“Experiment with a deep alchemy system featuring dozens of recipes. Brew helpful remedies, corruptive mixtures, or something you’ll immediately regret but still feel compelled to try again. Five major supernatural threats along with a rotating cast of lesser horrors, stand between you and order. Each requires a different approach, though ‘apply fire’ remains a popular fallback. Misjudgment is always an option. The monastery has procedures for that. Probably.” Well, consider my interest definitely piqued! Inquisitor Simulator does not currently have a firm release window or price listed, but you can wishlist it on Steam to ensure you’re updated when that changes.
