Remember, remember, yesterday was the 5th of November, celebrating resistance, revolution, and FOX “News” broadcast weather during election night coverage. Monday, apparently Gears of War is still a thing, and that’s bad for the industry. Tuesday, news is drier than a nun looking at Moses’ nude calendar to raise funds for Noah’s boat or something. Wednesday, Alexx was calling Doctor Jones to get all the pink out of his eyes, but it is just the Barbie collab for PowerWash Sim 2 that was announced, and the Humble Choice Bundle for November is here. If you don’t already have enough games that you don’t play, Slow Game Club might be the answer.

On to the Epic Games Store for this week, and someone put an end to this act of cruel and unusual punishment, please. We’ll start with the worst of the options, as it is that time of year when Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms rears its head again for PC and mobile on the Epic Games Store. This time you get Morte from Planescape: Torment with “Morte’s Champions of Renown Pack, worth over $100 USD, for FREE! Unlock Morte, Nordom, Donaar, Sentry, and Sheila, plus 32 Platinum Chests each, two week-long potions, and an exclusive Kapak Draconian familiar!” If I give you 100 pennies, will you go away?

The sad thing is, there are two (much better) games on offer, and we’ll start with the other mobile offering this week. Indeed, double double-bill. Chants of Sennaar is an adventure puzzle game from Rundisc in 2023 about learning languages. If you don’t know, I can speak several languages, so when I say Chants of Sennaar is the game you want to play if you have an interest in languages, listen to me. I don’t know how the mobile version plays, but you’ll love it.

Another that I should be pulling my finger out on when it comes to reviews is Pajama Llama Games’ Flotsam, a city-building game on the water. The name itself comes from the goods that surface from sunken wrecks in the water. Originally released into early access in 2019 and hit 1.0 last December, Flotsam is a colorful and delightful little game that I wish I had more time for, mostly to get the review out on it.

All week, you can pick up Flotsam, Chants of Sennaar, and Morte’s Champions of Renown Pack for Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms until the 12th of November. The latter two, of course, are available via the mobile app. On to next week, and thus far, it is only one offering. Rogue-like autobattler Knightica looks a lot like a mobile game, and with my accent, if I say that name aloud too quickly, it sounds like I’m a step away from saying “can a Knightica borrow a fry?“ I’ll be surprised if that makes the edit.
