Rumors of a June 9th, 2026 Nintendo Direct showed up earlier in the spring, and then again just last week. As it turns out, the rumors were true, and we were treated to about 50 minutes of reveals, trailers, release dates, and more! We’re going to break down every game featured in the latest Nintendo showcase if you missed it, so let’s dive right in.

To begin the show, we saw a short message from Yoshiaki Koizumi that led directly into a trailer for Rhythm Heaven Groove. Releasing on July 2, 2026, I think showing people how to play this game for those without prior experience was a great move. The series is 20 years old now, but many might have missed this series in the past. The inclusion of fun story elements and cute characters made me want to pick up the game on day one. The title will launch on Nintendo Switch, which will also play on Switch 2, obviously.

We moved to the first big group of headlines, starting with Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Capcom games have run great on Switch 2, so I’m excited for this one when it releases on September 25th, 2026. There’s a demo out now you can try, also, which I highly recommend.

Next, Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is heading to Nintendo Switch 2. This game includes additional content from the base game, which earned an 86 on Metacritic upon release in 2024. Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is on the way for Switch 2 on October 9, 2026.

A little mash-up of titles followed, including Stellar Blade, which arrives on Switch 2 later this year.

We also saw another look at Orbitals, the anime-inspired co-op game. It’s a Switch 2 exclusive for now, and will be playable via GameShare on Switch as long as you have a Switch 2 version. Orbitals releases September 3rd, 2026.

Rayman Legends Retold showed up, which we saw for the first time last week. The game looks wonderful, and I’ll always take more Rayman. Rayman Legends Retold launches on October 1st, 2026, along with the other consoles previously announced.

Big Walk was next, a co-op walking game with really funny-looking characters. Big Walk is a puzzler to play with friends, and it’ll be out on PC and PlayStation 5 as well on August 4th, 2026.

The pixel-art title One Piece: Grand Gourmet was next. It’s a restaurant and cooking sim featuring characters from ONE PIECE, which I’m sure will thrill some fans of the manga and anime. One Piece: Grand Gourmet launches on October 23rd, 2026, with mouse controls for Switch 2.

Next, to my heart’s delight, we have Pokémon Pokopia free DLC that expands the towns undersea. This is a free update for August 2026. An expansion pass was announced as well, featuring Bubbly Basin, an underwater world, to add new Pokémon and items to the game. The first round of DLC launches in August, with two parts launching in late 2026 and 2027, respectively.

Up next, we got a look at Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, including many of the characters and some of the story elements. The game will offer you four main characters to play. There seem to be a lot of elements of Fire Emblem: Three Houses, with tons to do in between battles. This is a heavy hitter for Switch 2 this year and will release on September 17th, 2026.

We continued with more headlines, starting with Ninjala 2, a live-service game from developer GungHo Online Entertainment. The first part of the game, The Uncharted Planet, will be exclusive to Switch 2 next spring. We moved to Nintendo Switch Online’s DK Challenge, a collectible digital card experience. You can play NSO games to earn digital cards, and if you own Donkey Kong Bananza, you can also access special levels in that game. The DK Challenge starts later today. Bananza is also getting Super Mario Bros. content added to Emerald Rush, the paid DLC mode. With four waves of content, the fun crossover begins today.

Next, a slew of announcements. We learned Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble Surviaton is coming to Switch 2 next year. The game features more than 20 characters from the anime and manga. Lords of the Fallen II is coming to Switch 2 as well this fall. Lies of P: Complete Edition will also come to Switch 2 digitally on August 6th, 2026, and physically on October 2nd, 2026. Devil May Cry 5 Devil Hunter Edition is also coming to Switch 2, with a planned release date of June 23rd, 2026. We also saw a feudal Japan action RPG called Muramasa: Revenant Blades, releasing next year.

Next, 60FPS and 4K resolution versions of all three Xenoblade Chronicles for the Nintendo Switch are on the way. This includes Xenoblade Chronicles, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Previously, Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition got its own Switch 2 version. They have staggered release dates over the coming months.

More importantly, we got an early look at the next Xenoblade Chronicles game, called Xenoblade Genesis. We won’t see this one for a while, but it will come in 2027.

We moved on to Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, a Switch 2 experience. Nintendo Switch Sports Resort will include boxing, table tennis, archery, tennis, volleyball, bowling, basketball, golf, thumb wrestling, skateboarding, power cruising, prop plane, and jump rope. Nintendo Switch Sports Resort releases on October 22, 2026, and will be a Switch 2 exclusive due to many Joy-Con 2 features.

More headlines followed, including RuneScape: Dragonwilds, a survival crafting experience, which launches on September 15th, 2026. We also saw a trailer for Hello Kitty Party Land, a party game with 140 characters and 40 minigames, which will release on October 29, 2026. Another look at Star Fox followed, with a release date of June 25, 2026. The game will get a demo today as well, which should help people decide whether to pick it up later this month.

A trailer for a gorgeous-looking Final Fantasy Resonance. The game is in the highly beloved HD-2D art style, which is a first for Final Fantasy. It looks very much in the style of old Final Fantasy games, with large overworld maps and turn-based combat. We also saw Cloud and other characters from past games, which is a fun touch. Final Fantasy Resonance will release for Switch and Switch 2 on October 22nd, 2026.

Pikuniku 2 showed up next, full of its iconic weird visuals and quirky puzzles, and will launch in 2027. A new Dragon Age Monsters was next, titled Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World, which will release on December 3, 2027. Next, we got a really cool trailer for The Duskbloods, the From Software Switch 2 exclusive, which will have a closed network test this summer. More information to follow, according to Koizumi. In my opinion, you need to show more of that game at this stage. Pretty disappointing, if you ask me.

More information about Splatoon Raiders was next, including details about different areas and characters. The game looks great, and as a reminder, is a single-player experience. I hope this one is as good as it seems, and we’ll find out more during a dedicated June 30 Nintendo Direct. There are also comics included in the Nintendo News app, and a Splatoon 3 tie-in event ahead of Splatoon Raiders’ release on July 23rd, 2026.

More headlines were up next, starting with Deltarune adding new chapters. A Switch 2 launch title, many folks love these games, and I’m happy they’ll get more content on June 24th.

We will also finally see Metaphor: ReFantazio show up on Switch 2, which Alexx and I loved when we reviewed it on PC and Xbox Series X. Metaphor: ReFantazio arrives on November 12th, 2026.

Minecraft is also getting a Switch 2 version, which includes mouse controls, updated visuals, and enhanced lighting. Worlds carry over from the Switch as well. Minecraft‘s Switch 2 version will show up later this year.

A quick look at a bunch of games came next, including a new Atelier game for 2027, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 for later this year, Observer: System Redux on June 18th, 2026, Day Z later this year, and Metal Gear Solid 2: Master Collection for August 27th, 2026.

Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20th Anniversary Edition is coming to the eShop later today, and Tales of Eternia: Remastered will arrive on October 16th, 2026. Snow Runner will also hit the eShop later today, and Fitness Boxing 3 is coming on July 16th, 2026. Everbloom arrives next year, and Final Fantasy XIV enters Early Access on Switch 2 this September.

I’m thrilled to say that next up, we are getting a non-cloud version of all three Kingdom Hearts collections, called Kingdom Hearts Collection, which will launch this October. Save data from the cloud versions will transfer to the new version.

Shockingly, Kingdom Hearts IV was revealed next, which I can’t believe they did during this event. I’m blown away, and the game looks incredible. There’s no release date, but we got a gorgeous trailer, and the game will arrive on Switch 2 at launch.

To end the June 6th, 2026, Nintendo Direct, we closed the show with the highly rumored The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. The visuals are stunning, and I’m so excited to play this game again. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will launch on Switch 2 later this year, but no specific date was announced.
