I’m loving the start of the new year so far in terms of time spent playing my Nintendo Switch. There are a lot of great titles releasing in the next few months, and an announcement today from Korean indie games studio ORANGE POPCORN adds another one I want to check out. The game, already getting a lot of love on Steam, features breakneck gameplay and tons of combat-heavy action. Here’s what to expect if you check out Maid of Salvation, now live on the Nintendo eShop.

Maid of Salvation is a top-down action game that blends fluid combat with exploration. The bit of the game I’ve seen appears to challenge players to master rhythm-based combat while creatively combining every weapon at their disposal to dispose of enemies. With no fast-paced game like this in my rotation at the moment, I’m excited to give it a shot. The game was already released on Steam and has a “Very Positive” rating with 171 reviews at the time of publication.
Set in a dark fantasy realm, Maid of Salvation follows Shizuka, a maid of purgatory sent on a sacred mission to save lost souls in a land overrun by fiends, only to uncover unsettling truths that twist her understanding of salvation and the world itself. The core gameplay features deep, precise combat using swords, firearms, and special techniques. Throughout the journey, you’ll also face more than 20 formidable bosses as well as uncover hidden quests and rival maid stories. A skill board also allows you to customize what elements of your attack you evolve.

Watch a great trailer for the game below. Let us know if you are planning to try out this game, or maybe double-dip now that Maid of Salvation is out on the Nintendo Switch!
