Why are octopuses the best salespeople for home defense solutions? Because they’re always very well-armed! That’s the best I’ve got to introduce my subject today, the October 2026 Steam Next Fest demo of My Arms Are Longer Now. Developed by Toot Games (and yes, that is a reference to flatulence) and published by Jackbox Games, My Arms Are Longer Now sees you play as an unnamed “sneaky long-armed thief.” Your mandatory and optional objectives are always visible and listed out for you, which I massively appreciate. Your overall goal is to steal as much as possible in each level.

Basically, think something along the lines of Untitled Goose Game where you’re an impossibly long human arm whose goal is to steal things and cause trouble for everyone around you. You can pick the pockets of anyone you can reach, and steal pretty much anything that isn’t nailed down. No one other than designated guard NPCs will do anything to try and stop you from stealing their stuff, aside from pitifully whining at you and then accepting their fate when that clearly doesn’t work. You can also slap by clicking the mouse, both to hit people and break fragile objects.
You can stretch your arm out in the middle of paths you know NPCs walk through, and then hold a button to tighten your arm, thus causing anyone walking through the path to trip over you. This is both just plain funny to do and useful, since it can cause tripped NPCs to drop important items you couldn’t otherwise pilfer from them. My Arms Are Longer Now recommends playing with a controller, though it’s easy to miss when it actually suggests that on-screen. I got through the demo pretty easily with a keyboard and mouse, but I see how a controller would be easier.

The only problem I encountered was what appeared to be a user interface scaling issue on my primary monitor’s ultrawide resolution, namely 2560×1080. Because of that, I had to exit and relaunch the demo of My Arms Are Longer Now just to exit the options menu since I couldn’t see an “exit” or “back” button anywhere. Taking the demo out of fullscreen mode didn’t seem to help with that at all. I used the link on the demo’s main menu to report that issue directly to Toot Games. Hopefully it’s something they can easily address before My Arms Are Longer Now launches in full.
The voice acting in My Arms Are Longer Now is fantastic. The writing, which is obviously played up to maximize comic effect, complements the voice acting really well. I’m the kind of person who both has a particularly low-brow sense of humor and really enjoys games where my entire goal is to be as much of a nuisance as possible. Heck, that might mean I’m exactly the target demographic for My Arms Are Longer Now. I genuinely consider that a badge of honor. You can wishlist My Arms Are Longer Now on Steam; its release date is “2027” as of the time of writing.
A PC review copy of the demo version of My Arms Are Longer Now was provided by Jackbox Games for this preview.
