One of the interesting parts of Summer Game Fest every year for me is that it always intersects with Pride Month. Sometimes that makes it difficult to do coverage for Pride Month, as the Phenixx Gaming Team is usually exhausted after SGF coverage. This year, we have a new showcase to cover, the Gayming Pride Parade! Let’s get into the games from SGF that have LGBTQIA+ representation.

Kicking off the hour-long showcase was a trailer for Rizz Dungeon: Skeleton Key to My Heart, which asks a very simple question: What if, instead of fighting monsters in a dungeon, you flirted with them instead? Flirt your way through the dungeon and confront your Dragon ex to get your stuff back. Rizz Dungeon will release on September 17th on PC. You can also play a demo now!

Next up is a retro survival horror called SHE, also known as Seraphim Helix Experiment. SHE blends Psychological Horror with themes such as identity and womanhood. SHE is actively in development right now, though we don’t have a release date yet.

Tales of Seikyu was next on the showcase, which is releasing very soon. This cozy life-sim is coming to its 1.0 release on June 11th, today. I’m excited about the various same sex marriage options available.

Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker Makeover is a revamped version of Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker, where players run their own matchmaking agency. This remastered version is coming later this summer, so be ready to match lots of hopeful lovebirds.

Next is Art of Solitaire, a game that helps you build artistic decks and experience all manner of art while you enjoy classic Solitaire games. From Klondike to Spider, all sorts of Solitaire games are available as well. New decks will be available each month, and Art of Solitaire will bring Solitaire together with card collection in a fun and easy way. Art of Solitaire is free to play on Steam now and is currently in Early Access.

Cute Patoots was the next game on the list, a 2D platformer with an adorable aesthetic. You can play the demo for Cute Patoots now on Steam, enjoying a vibrant world inspired by Mega-Man and platformers of the 90s.

Spill the Beans is a “reverse detective visual novel” that was next on the list. In Spill the Beans, you’re the one who stole a secret recipe, and it is up to you to manipulate conversations, find evidence, and convince everyone that someone else committed the theft. You can wishlist Spill the Beans on Steam now.

The next game immediately caught my eye. Neon Death Drop is a fast-paced top-down action title that puts you in the shoes of Seraph, a Go-Go dancer facing off against glitching robots in a futuristic city. Campy, cheesy, and slightly cringe (in a fun way), Neon Death Drop can be wishlisted now on Steam.

To something a little more nostalgic, Tako no Himutsu: Ocean of Secrets is a GBA-inspired Action RPG. Shadow creatures are consuming the world, and a group of friends bands together to discover why, along with understanding other mysteries like the disappearing Octopi. Tako No Himutsu: Ocean of Secrets has a demo on Steam now, and I am eager to explore this drag-infused world.

The show closer was Wylde Society, a magical period-themed drama/Life Sim by the developers of Wylde Flowers. You’ll play as Vivian Wylde, renovating and customizing the Wylde Boarding House. At the same time, you’ll practice witchcraft, conduct balls, and manage guest needs and expectations… among other things. You can wishlist Wylde Society now on Steam.

The Gayming Pride Parade showcase was hosted by The Gayming Foundation. I covered the main segments involving games, but the whole showcase (including interviews) is included below. This was a smaller affair, so I’m hoping they grow bigger next year.
