Pepper Grinder (PC) Review

Devolver Digital has one of the best track records in PC gaming publishing. Whether it’s Inscryption, Cult of the Lamb, Enter the Gungeon, or any of dozens of others of a vast array of titles, you’re bound to find not only a lot of “Overwhelming…

Ghost of Tsushima DIRECTOR’S CUT (PC) – Review

30-some miles off of the coast of South Korea is the island of Tsushima (対馬), the point of the first Mongol invasion and the setting for Sucker Punch Productions’ 2020 Kurosawa-inspired game. The previous PlayStation 4 exclusive and later PS5 title was released…

Freedom Planet 2 (Switch) Review

One of my favorite Indie platformers is 2014’s Freedom Planet. It was at the time (and still is, I think) the only Indie game to attempt to capture the magic of early Sonic The Hedgehog platformers and succeed. Now developer GalaxyTrail has…

Duck Detective: The Secret Salami (PC) – Review

In a dark and smokey room, with coffee stains on every surface and abandoned dreams clouding the air, there is only one duck to solve the case, Eugene McQuacklin. A Noir-esque tale of stolen salami, Happy Broccoli Games’ Duck Detective is a delightful little mystery…

Doctor Who “The Devil’s Chord” – Review

I’ve been thinking, the first song from the Meet the Beatles album is probably one of the best songs to capture Doctor Who, especially from “Rose” onward. Directed this time by Ben Chessell, mostly known for things you’ve never heard of unless you are a…

Endless Ocean Luminous (Switch) Review

In 2008, the Wii was really picking up steam in the United States, and a lot of diverse titles were hitting the shelves for the console. One such game was a scuba diving adventure that served as the spiritual successor to the…

Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist (PC) Preview

Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights was easily one of my favorite releases in 2021. From checking out the Early Access version to playing the full release, the Souls-like captured my attention in ways that most don’t. Its sequel, Ender Magnolia: Bloom…
