Ok y’all, I’ll admit. While some kids were frothing at the mouth over Mario and Sonic, my heart was captured by other mascots. Don’t get me wrong, I like Mario and Sonic, and did as a kid, but Spyro, Crash, and a tiny little Crocodile were my main 3 favorites. Now, the sequel to Croc: Legend of the Gobbos has been remastered and is coming this week!

That’s right, Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos is launching on October 29th, this Thursday! Announced last Friday, this means that you’ll be able to play Croc 2 on PC and all major platforms! Here is what the press release says about the Croc 2 remaster:

“Argonaut Games is delighted to announce that development of the Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos remaster is complete, and it will launch digitally on October 29, 2026, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, XBOX Series X, XBOX Series S, and Windows PC on Steam and GOG.com. The remaster of the beloved sequel to the multi-million-selling hit Croc Legend of the Gobbos brings Croc’s next adventure to modern platforms, featuring enhanced visuals and a range of quality-of-life improvements.

October 1 also marks the start of Croctober, a whole month of news, updates, and surprises on Argonaut’s social channels, with the launch of Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos on October 29 as the highlight.

Starting October 29, longtime fans and new players can join Croc in search of his long-lost parents across over 40 levels of open-ended 3D platforming. The game was originally released in 1999 as Croc 2, and the remaster restores the title Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos, the name used during the game’s development.”

Mike Arkin, Co-CEO of Argonaut Games, just commented on this announcement, stating: “Players now have a date for their next adventure with Croc, October 29. This remaster brings together the original’s open-ended 3D platforming, enhanced visuals, and quality-of-life improvements. We look forward to welcoming fans back to the Kingdom of the Gobbos and introducing new players to this beloved sequel.”

Argonaut’s founder, Jez San OBE, also commented, adding: “Croc 2 takes Croc beyond his first adventure, with four distinct villages, new ways to explore, and his search for his long-lost parents at the heart of the story. Sharing that adventure with another generation of players on October 29 is something very special.”

Of course, it wouldn’t be an announcement about Croc without word from the big bad himself, Baron Dante. “October 29. Mark it on your calendars, Gobbos. My Dantinis and I have a little revenge planned, and no triple-jumping crocodile is going to stop us!”

If it isn’t obvious, I’m very excited for Croc 2. I’m going to be wiggling like an excited kid on Christmas, waiting by my email to hopefully get a key for review, either for myself or someone else on the team. More folks should experience the Croc series, and hopefully if this does well, then Argonaut games will bless us with a 3rd Croc adventure.
