It’s PlayStation’s turn to get the most-anticipated treatment. Say what you will about Sony this console generation, but despite not really finding their footing, they’re still leading the pack in console sales and industry influence. We’re going to hold off on spending time talking about everyone’s top PlayStation release this fall, Wolverine, because four other titles feel more enticing to me as of now. Let’s get started with the first of four releases I’m excited about on PS5 this Fall.

Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition – October 1st

A Complete Edition isn’t necessarily something that many will find more compelling than a brand-new release. That said, Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition is headlined by new DLC, Echoes of Sekigahara, which will split between the present day and flashbacks to Atsu’s time on the mainland. A new mode, Most Wanted, will also provide a roguelike spin on the game through endless bounties and perks earned for completing your missions.

The game will launch at $69.99 USD on October 1st, and if you have the original, your upgrade path is $15 USD. I’m sure a lot of PS5 owners will have already spent a good bit of time with Ghost of Yotei, but for those who want more or haven’t given it a shot, this is the best time to get in the feudal fight.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer – October 6th

Anyone with a soft spot for the Star Wars prequels who plays video games likely has their eyes on this next release. I can’t wait to hop into a next-gen version of Episode 1: Racer, a game I spent a lot of time with in my youth. I’m really intrigued by the story mode, which will follow Darius Pax and Kestar Bool, rivals in the Galactic League. Plenty of family drama and competition from other racers will dirty up the playing field in each race, and I hope it provides enough fun to warrant a nice little incentive for spending some good time in this title.

PC players will get this one as well, and while it didn’t make my Most Anticipated Xbox Releases for Fall 2026, it’s coming to that console as well. We’ll all be channeling our inner podracer on October 6th, hopefully with a lot less child slavery and midichlorian talk than The Phantom Menace.

Enshrouded – October 15

Next up, Enshrouded is exiting Early Access and launching in 1.0 for PC and PlayStation 5. If you’re a base-building fan who’s up for a new fantasy survival action-RPG that can be played solo or in co-op, you’re in luck. I’m a huge fan of what I’ve seen of this game, and I have abstained until its full release before giving it a go. The game offers enough space to allow players to make their own path as they venture into a vast world, vanquish punishing bosses, build grand halls, and much more.

The Steam reviews to this day remain “Very Positive,” and fans who have stuck around since the game’s early days sing the developer’s praises for their responsiveness to fan feedback. The team at Keen Games GmbH is excited to bring this to PS5 and PC on October 15th, with an Xbox release to come later next year.

Phantom Blade Zero – October 29th

Last but not least, we are finally getting the project from S-GAME, Phantom Blade Zero. This game has a really interesting twist to its story and in-game experience. You play as Soul, a warrior with only sixty-six days left to live. Fend off assassins, unravel world-ending conspiracies, and defend your values with your life. The New Game + is even a mode where every time you die in a boss battle, you lose a day of your life you have left to live. The game is marketed very much as an action game rather than a Souls-like, but it looks incredible nevertheless.
