David’s Backlog Busting: The Roottrees are Dead

Breaking news at the top of the hour this morning: The Roottrees are Dead, and someone made a video game about that. As part of my endeavors to make a dent in my game backlog, I’ve had a look at said video…

Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar (PC) Review

Story of Seasons, formerly known as Harvest Moon, is one of the most consistent simulation franchises in gaming. As we see more and more farming and community-centric games flood the shelves, it’s hard to say that Story of Seasons isn’t still one of the…

Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots (PC) Review

I have been a fan of the Hot Shots Golf (Everybody’s Golf in other regions) franchise since the PS2-Era. I got hooked on the simplified golf gameplay and the gameplay loop of unlocking new characters, clubs, balls, and costumes. Now, Everybody’s Golf:…

Zefyr: A Thief’s Melody (PC) Review

Nostalgic gaming is still going strong in 2025. Whether it be the aptly-named Merchant 64 coming straight from a time capsule, or Ruffy and the Riverside capturing Paper Mario of all things, players almost beckon for these new iterations to wear their inspirations on their sleeves to…

I love logic puzzles. Beyond that, I love games that make me think, but also leave a warm, fuzzy feeling at the end. Is This Seat Taken? feels like a nice daydream, or a film you watch with the family just to…

Warhammer 40K: Boltgun – Words of Vengeance (PC) Review

Warning: The subject of this review contains depictions of graphic violence and pixelated gore. Reader discretion is advised. Science said it couldn’t be done, and yet here it is. Auroch Digital first turned Warhammer 40,000 into a retro-style boomer shooter in the…

Quest Giver (PC) Review

There’s an old quest in World of Warcraft that grants you the “privilege” of briefly experiencing what it’s like to be a quest giver. That is, to be a non-player character (“NPC”) who stays in the exact same spot for all eternity,…

David’s Backlog Busting: Astrologaster (PC)

In my first Backlog Busting review, I said that logic dictates I’ll find some hidden gems in my game collection eventually. Well, in only the second review in this series, I’ve found one. Each entry in this series is comprised of my…
