SNW “The Serene Squall” – Review

The Orions are totally not overused recently in Star Trek. Returning from episode 2 “Children of the Comet,” we have Sarah Tarkoff, and Beau DeMayo of “Memento Mori” as well as every gay Star Trek fan’s Instagram timeline. These two head up writing…

Blasphemous 2 (Switch) Review

It is somewhat ironic that despite spending years complaining about Souls-like games, I find myself playing them relatively often. This is mostly a side effect of the fact that most recent Metroidvania games have taken cues from the genre, choosing to implement…

Smurfs Kart (Switch) Review

A great kart racer needs a few things to not instantly be compared to a generic Mario Kart clone. Firstly, it needs to have solid controls that make racing feel fun, not frustrating. Secondly, it’s crucial that the game features enough of…

Inner Ashes (Switch) Review

Walking Simulators can be hit-or-miss. Sometimes mechanical problems can cause a strong narrative to be bogged down or even missed entirely. In the case of Inner Ashes, a profound story is present, but a few issues keep it from being a great…

2023 seems to be shaping up to be a year where I am consistently surprised by the Indie gaming scene. Sometimes, attempts to bring popular international properties into the gaming space don’t go well, such as the Asterix and Obelix games. However,…

Turbo Overkill (PC) Review

When you can start a review by saying the game made you feel like the phrase “[expletive] you, the horse you rode in on, and all that came with you!” I think it might be giving the carrot before the stick. I…

SNW “Lift Us Where Suffering Cannot Reach” – Review

This is the first Strange New Worlds episode with two returning writers, Bill Wolkoff of “Ghosts of Illyria,” and Robin Wasserman with “Spock Amok.” The two are joined by Arrowverse director Andi Armaganian, who also did some work with Discovery, but those are seasons 4…
