Nivalis renamed and gets release date

If I could be as explicit as I want to be for this one, my description of how excited I am about Nivalis would make fans of The Boys blush. First revealed back in 2021, ION LANDS and 505 Games’ Nivalis stunned with its graphical style and exciting dystopian, cyberpunk-inspired world. However, it has now been slightly renamed and, at long last (I’m not counting down the days, promise), given a release date for later this year. Here is what the press release says:

“Leading video game publisher 505 Games and independent developer ION LANDS are excited to announce a September 29, 2026 Steam release date for their upcoming cyberpunk life sim[,] Nivalis Nights (formerly known as Nivalis), with an Epic Games Store release to follow at a later date. Fans of ION LANDS, the creators of Cloudpunk, have eagerly awaited the [release of] Nivalis Nights since its initial reveal in 2021. Since then, the team has worked tirelessly to refine the game, ensuring players get the best possible experience at launch.”

Commenting on the release date announcement, 505 Games President, Neil Ralley, said: “We have been excited about this project for a long time and watching it come to life has been an extraordinary and rewarding experience. With the release date not far away, we can’t wait to finally welcome players to the city of Nivalis and discover its secrets.”

The press release also goes on to describe the idea and gameplay of Nivalis Nights: “Combining everything that draws you into the cozy life sims you love with a deep cyberpunk sim, Nivalis Nights, this cyberpunk slice-of-life sim returns to the eponymous city from Cloudpunk. Make a mark in this starry, neon-lit future and build a life for yourself in the bustling futuristic city, expanding from a humble noodle stand or nightclub into a booming enterprise.

Explore the city’s crowded waterfront districts and hidden alleyways, meet its eclectic citizens, or simply enjoy a quiet life of fishing and home decorating in your home far above the clouds. A future of endless possibilities awaits.”

As I say, I have been excited about Nivalis Nights not only before the name change but long enough that it certainly made our Most Wanted article two years ago. As noted above, Nivalis Nights will be releasing on September 29th on Steam, with a later date to be set for the Epic Games Store. No talk yet of console releases, but that’s definitely something to talk about later, after the initial launch.
