It is that time of year again, when F1 fans get snarky about a game that they are going to continue to buy either yearly or bi-yearly. However, this year’s F1 is different. Both for the game and the on-track action, as EA announced in November of 2025, there wouldn’t be a full release F1 game for the following season due to the rule changes and the amount of work required vs focusing on F1 27. Revealed yesterday in a short trailer, we know more about the F1 25: 2026 Season Pack DLC. Here is what the press release had to say:

“Electronic Arts Inc. invites players to rewrite the grid in the all-new 2026 Season Pack* for EA SPORTS’™ F1® 25, the official video game of the 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship™, coming to PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S[,] and PC on June 3, 2026. The 2026 Season Pack welcomes in a groundbreaking new era of F1®, featuring the updated rules and regulations for the 2026 F1® season, the introduction of two teams: Audi & Cadillac, and their driver rosters to the grid, new action-packed gameplay features, and the highly anticipated MADRING circuit; the first new F1® circuit since 2023.
The F1® 25: 2026 Season Pack continues to innovate the iconic racing experience. Implementing real-world regulation changes, the 2026 Season Pack showcases lighter, smaller cars† with active aerodynamics that are more responsive, whether you’re using a gamepad or a wheel. Additionally, the all-new Overtake Mode creates extra strategic options for drivers of all abilities, with new assist options available to players for closer racing and a tactical, action-packed experience.

Adding to the excitement, the Spanish Grand Prix™ debuts with the all-new MADRING†† circuit, the first new F1® circuit since 2023, available only in the F1® 25: 2026 Season Pack. Set against the backdrop of Madrid, the hybrid street and purpose-built track gives players a taste of adrenaline-filled, high-speed action, and the opportunity to race on the track before the September 2026 Grand Prix™.“
There are a couple of asterisks in there and additional notes, the first being that, because it is a DLC, of course, the “2026 Season Pack” does require the base game of F1 25. The second note is that the DLC “showcases lighter, smaller cars† with active aerodynamics,” with the press release noting “Some final car models will release in a post-launch update.” The third note, for now, is that the new circuit, MADRING, is only available for the 2026 regulation cars.

Senior Creative Director at Codemasters, Lee Mather, said of the announcement: “The F1® 25: 2026 Season Pack marks the beginning of a bold new era for Formula 1. With sweeping regulation changes and new teams and rivalries redefining the grid, players can experience the most significant evolution of the sport in over a decade. We are thrilled to bring these changes to players, including the incredible opportunity to race virtually on the MADRING circuit before the race, and look forward to sharing more soon.”
With this DLC, we also see the addition of an 11th team to the grid, something we’ve seen experimented with in prior years and with the fictional teams of Konnersport and F1: The Movie star team, APXGP. As a result, the 2026 regulation seasons for both Driver Career and My Team game modes will not allow you to play as either of the fictional outfits. It is understandable, though I’m slightly disappointed that there won’t be luminescent yellow and purple on the grid. I like distinctive colors on cars, what can I say?

However, you can have a 12th team on the grid in the My Team mode, as the press release notes: “The F1® grid expands to eleven teams in 2026†††, with My Team returning for players to take control and become the 12th team on the grid with their custom squad. Audi and Cadillac make their debut in the F1® 25: 2026 Season Pack* lineup, bringing the all-American thrills of Cadillac and introducing Audi’s iconic brand and motorsport heritage. New drivers, adjusted rosters, and returning icons additionally hit the track, with fan favorites Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez headlining the all-new Cadillac team and standout Gabriel Bortoleto and Nico Hülkenberg joining the lineup for Audi.”
One of the cover stars for the DLC, Ferrari driver, as well as 7x World Champion, Lewis Hamilton, commented on working with EA: “I’m so pleased to be able to partner with EA SPORTS because games are such an incredible way for fans to experience our sport. This year, we’ve entered a new era in Formula 1, with new regulations which have changed so much about the sport. The EA SPORTS team has done a great job bringing these changes to life in the F1® 25: 2026 Season Pack, from the cars and power units to the new tracks like MADRING. I can’t wait for fans out there to get behind the wheel and experience this new season for themselves.”

With all of that out of the way, let’s get to the business end of it all. How much for the F1 25: 2026 Season Pack? Console MSRP is $29.99 | €29.99 | £24.99, with PC MSRP being $24.99 | €24.99 | £21.99, which is bound to ruffle feathers. I’ve been watching the talk around the announcement when it was teased on Monday with the cover reveal, and the expectation was for a lower price than that. Of course, prices may vary depending on retailers and currencies.
It is not my place to say what price it should be without playing it or seeing more in detail; that said, this is just the price of the DLC. There is also the Season Edition, which I believe is supposed to be the game and the DLC together for one price. The console MSRP for the F1 25 2026 Season Edition is $49.99 | €59.99 | £49.99, with the PC MSRP being $49.99 | €49.99 | £44.99. The F1 25: 2026 Season Pack will release on June 3rd, about two weeks from now, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
