Admittedly, Coral Island is one of the few “Cozy Games” on my list that I haven’t dug into yet. It’s a bit of a white whale for me, and I have had my eye on it for a while. Now, a new announcement from Balor Games and Stairway Games might give me more reason to dig into it.

The developer has announced that Coral Island is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 this winter. This also coincides with the 1.4 “Kids Grow Up” update, offering some cool milestones for parents in-game. Here is what the press release says about the announcement and update:

“Stairway Games and Balor Games today announced that Coral Island, the vibrant, laid-back cooperative farming sim, is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 this winter. Revealed during The MIX Fall Showcase, the Switch 2 version will debut alongside the free 1.4 “Kids Grow Up” Update[,] which will also launch for players on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and XBOX Series X|S at the same time.

Nintendo Switch 2 players will soon be able to build the cozy coastal life of their dreams in Coral Island. Playing solo or with up to four friends in multiplayer, they can experience everything the island has to offer at their own pace: growing crops, raising animals, and getting to know a diverse cast of islanders. Along the way, players can cultivate Starlet Town, protect local landscapes, dive beneath the waves to explore the magical Merfolk Kingdom, and even find love and build a family.

The 1.4 “Kids Grow Up” Update opens a new chapter for Coral Island. Players who choose to embrace parenthood can experience new milestones together as a family as their children grow and develop hobbies and interests of their own. The neighborhood kids are getting older, too, bringing exciting new stories and interactions to Starlet Town.

Farm. Decorate. Craft. Explore. Relax. Players shape their own future—and the future of Coral Island.”

If you’re interested in Coral Island but don’t want to wait, you can pick it up now on PC, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X|S consoles. I’m pretty excited to take a look, especially knowing that new stories are coming to the island.
