Good news, everyone! I’ve just gotten that obligatory reference out of the way, so now I can tell you what a press release has to say about the upcoming adventure game Hubert, developed and published by Brocap Studio. Hubert is described by the press release in question as “a fluffy, overconfident shepherd dog with a nose for trouble. He sees the world through movement, scent, instinct, and curiosity. You experience everything through his eyes. By his side is Lily, a sharp-witted kid who just convinced the grumpiest farmer in the valley to give them both a job.” Impressive showing, Lily!
“Their mission is to herd dozens of mildly chaotic sheep across the pastures. Easy, right? Not when the sheep have the attention span of a goldfish, and the farmer has zero patience.” I mean, I have both autism and ADHD, so I can empathize with both the farmer and the entire flock of sheep on that one. I recognize that’s neither here nor there, though. The press release adds: “Beyond the farm, in the uncharted northern wilderness, the land grows quieter and stranger. Something is out there. Not just a threat, but a call that Hubert understands in ways he cannot fully explain.”
Hubert probably can’t explain his understanding of that call because he’s, you know, a dog. Anyway, barring any unforeseen changes, Hubert is currently slated to release on Steam on October 12th, 2026. The press release mentions that a planned PlayStation 5 release “will follow in the coming weeks” after the Steam release, but that’s the closest thing we presently have to a concrete release window there. Hubert has a free demo available on Steam, and you can wishlist Hubert on Steam now to be notified when it releases. There is currently no word as to Hubert’s base price on launch.
