I love when my favorite genres come together. In this case, I love tactics games, and I love games involving food. I haven’t played the first Kitchen Sync game yet, but a new one is on the horizon, and I am intrigued.

Kitchen Sync: The Flying Tavern has been announced by Lemonpepper Games. This new release follows the first game in the franchise, Kitchen Sync: Aloha! It blends food anime-style storytelling with tactical gameplay and a few new twists. Here is what the press release says about the announcement:

“Kitchen Sync: The Flying Tavern is a fantasy management RPG that blends story, cozy kitchen management, and tactical RPG strategy.

Play as a chef from our world who finds themselves summoned to the fantasy realm of Rosolare and given command of a legendary Flying Tavern.  Assemble a party of adventurous chefs, create mouth-watering menus, and work together to serve delicious food to those in need as you reunite the world.  Build bonds between your party members and watch their relationships flourish – not just with you, but with one another.

Kitchen Sync: The Flying Tavern continues the series’ unique mixture of kitchen management and strategy RPG tactics.  As they cook their way around the diverse regions of the world, players can customize their kitchen layouts, menus, and chefs to cook legendary food for their guests.

Fans of the series will enjoy a return of beloved mechanics like Support Bonds, customized Recipe Twists, and Sync Styles. In addition to a beautiful fantasy world full of new characters and food, The Flying Tavern also introduces new features to explore, including drink service, new heroic abilities, ingredient collection, and tavern hall decoration.”

Currently, there is no word as to when Kitchen Sync: The Flying Tavern will be released. However, the original game (Kitchen Sync: Aloha!) has 99% very positive reviews on Steam, so fans should have a lot to look forward to. This will definitely be something I keep an eye on as development progresses. What about you?
