THQ Nordic Showcase Recap

I always make it a point to cover THQ Nordic showcases as I feel they have always produced quality titles that easily get overshadowed by other games. This past week was the 2026 showcase for the studio, which contained a variety of nice updates and new looks at upcoming titles, so let’s get into it.

This showcase began with a look at the latest DLC chapter for the horror title Reanimal. This chapter introduces two new playable characters: The Soldier and The Prisoner, who must explore the ruins of a town decimated by war. The trailer teases new areas and enemies to face. This will also be the first of three total DLC chapters, which can be purchased individually or as part of the season pass. You can purchase Reanimal and the new DLC right now on PC, Switch 2, P54, and Xbox Series X/S.

There was also a short teaser for the next project from DigixArt, the studio behind titles such as Life is Strange and Road 96, a first-person story-focused adventure game. According to the press release, this new game is reported to be set within the Road 96 universe, though there are no further details at this time.

Next came a look at the next entry in the Expeditions series, Expeditions: Samurai. Taking place in feudal Japan, this title hopes to deliver the ultimate CRPG experience within the setting, offering deep turn-based tactics as well as decision-making that will affect your adventure. The game launches into early access now and is available for a discount at 29.99.

Titan Quest II will be receiving its next big update during early access. This update adds the Spirit Mastery feature, which will allow players to unleash powerful summons like Eidolon Guards or the spirit Athanekros. The Spirit Mastery update is currently live.

Further titles receiving updates to early access included the likes of Call to Arms: Panzer Elite. This update adds two new tanks and two new campaign missions, which will bring the German campaign to a close. The update is available now. The racing title Wreckfest 2 will also receive additional content in the form of new tracks, expanded customization options, as well as game modes like Suicide and Waypoint Races.

Other titles that made an appearance during the showcase included Ashborne Games’ next project, The Guild-Europa 1410, a life sim and city builder set in medieval Europe, as well as the announcement of a release date for the full version of Way of the Hunter 2. The game will have a simultaneous launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on September 29th.

The latest Karaoke title from Voxler, Let’s Sing 2027, will be releasing to consoles alongside a re-release of Let’s Sing ABBA on Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PS5 on November 3rd. The new version of Let’s Sing ABBA will feature the additional song “I Have A Dream.”

This showcase wrapped up with a deep look into the creative process behind the upcoming platformer The Eternal Life of Goldman as well as tons of info regarding the Gothic series. The game features beautiful hand-drawn animation and a quirky protagonist that looks right up my alley. It will be releasing on all platforms, but alas, there is still no confirmed release date yet.

Shifting gears to the Gothic 1 Remake, the team promised a variety of new features will be added. This includes a photo mode, mod kits, alternative progression, as well as Marvin Mode. This is essentially a sandbox mode that allows you to input cheats, creating silly scenarios to challenge yourself or just live out power fantasies. The world of Gothic will also be expanding in the form of a board game, which will begin a funding campaign on Gamefound September 30th. Finally, the original Gothic Trilogy will be releasing on PlayStation and Xbox later this year, with the Switch 2 release coming on November 11th alongside the Gothic 3 Classic release. All three games will retail for 29.99 each.
