As games go through development, sometimes they change. It is often that their mechanics change, but sometimes it is more of a cosmetic, visual change that occurs. Now, Red Mountain Games has revealed something new for its upcoming Rogue-like deckbuilder.

AlcheMice just got a full visual overhaul, along with an updated Steam page and a brand-new trailer. The dev team at Spanish developer Red Mountain Games took feedback from players of their demo and industry professionals. Here is what the press release says about the overhaul:

“Spanish indie studio Red Mountain Games has revealed a major visual refresh for its upcoming Rogue-like deckbuilder AlcheMice, including brand-new key art, an updated Steam page, and a new trailer featuring unreleased gameplay and original 2D animation by Alkimia Animation Studio.

These updates are part of the team’s ongoing effort to better represent the game’s core feel and communicate the experience players can expect when AlcheMice launches.

The game’s official key art has been completely redesigned to better reflect the final artistic direction of AlcheMice. The new artwork aligns much more closely with the game’s hand-crafted visual style and the world players will explore throughout their adventure.

The Steam page has also received a significant overhaul following feedback from players and industry professionals. With updated descriptions, visuals, and presentation, the page now offers a clearer overview of AlcheMice‘s core gameplay, mechanics, and progression, helping players better understand what makes the game unique before jumping in.

Alongside the visual refresh, Red Mountain Games has also released a brand-new trailer showcasing fresh gameplay, new environments, and original 2D-animated sequences created by Alkimia Animation Studio. The trailer presents a glimpse into the game’s story while showcasing new environments, enemies, and gameplay systems, giving players their best look yet at the adventure that awaits.

To conclude, AlcheMice’s development continues to progress steadily. The team is currently expanding the game with new cards, additional alchemical recipes, new regions to explore, and new enemies, while continuing to polish gameplay systems ahead of future announcements. I like the new visual style of AlcheMice. I think it suits the game, and the revamped Steam page is very appealing. I can’t wait to see more, though we don’t know yet when AlcheMice will be released.
