Auroch Digital, in partnership with both Warhammer and Poncle, the developers of Vampire Survivors, has released a public demo on Steam for their upcoming game, Warhammer Survivors. Announced in late 2025 and gearing for a 2026 release window, this bullet heaven roguelite inherits much of the DNA of the aforementioned Vampire Survivors, planting it straight into the worlds of Games Workshop’s flagship IP. The Poncle partnership allows for many of the assets and polish from the game it echoes, and Auroch has already shown its prowess in the acclaimed FPS Warhammer 40k: Boltgun. With the demo released on Thursday, May 21, now fans can get a taste of what this title has to offer.

It can’t be overstated how much Warhammer Survivors emulates Vampire Survivors, thanks to working directly with Poncle. With it comes a breadth of familiarity, but the demo shows that there’s enough of in-universe attention-to-detail and lore worship to set it apart. The demo not only lets you drop into the original Warhammer platform to do battle with the Skaven, but you’re also getting a crack at the 40k setting to tackle the Tyranids. There’s also a full suite of unlockable roguelite upgrades, as well as a second character to earn. Replayability within a free demo is going to please a lot of potential players.

Warhammer Surivors is certainly no pushover, and you’ll have to rely on keen kiting and the run-over-run upgrades to survive just a few more minutes at a time. Thankfully, milestone unlocks are present to ensure more items are at your disposal in subsequent runs. Even with hundreds of hours of bullet heavens under my belt, I found a lot to enjoy in my time with the Warhammer Survivors demo, and certainly hope to get a crack at the full game when it comes out later this year. With Auroch Digital also hard at work on Boltgun II, though, it’ll be a toss-up on which title we see first.
