Insomniac Games Reveals Marvel’s Wolverine Release Date

It’s only February, but a surprise announcement from Insomniac Games has us already dreaming of the end of summer. One of the most anticipated games of the year, Marvel’s Wolverine, will be released this September, according to a post shared by its development studio across social media. Here’s what we know!

In a post on its social media accounts, Insomniac Games announced that Marvel’s Wolverine will launch on September 15th, 2026. If Rockstar Games does not delay Grand Theft Auto 6 further, this gives Insomniac’s project a solid two months of headway before what is likely to be the biggest media launch of all time hits shelves. By placing its flag in the heart of September, this is likely to prompt other games to strategically schedule their releases either earlier in the summer or sometime in October.

After headlining the Sony State of Play for September 2025, Marvel and PlayStation fans have been eager to learn when this game will release. The shock of the footage we saw during that event was just how much bloodier this game appeared to be than the web-slinging counterpart developed by the same studio. At the time of its initial reveal, I wrote that “it’s refreshing compared to the duller action of Insomniac’s Spider-Man games, but wow, if you’re not into slashing and cutting up bad guys, this game isn’t for you.

With a release date set for the middle of September, it will be fun to watch other big titles slated for the year find their place in the schedule. While avoiding a launch near this game or GTA6 isn’t required, it’s certainly wise, given how well both are expected to sell.
