After a preview earlier this year, I’ve been following the progress of Neon Abyss 2. Veewo Games’ sequel has been hard at work expanding and updating with new and fresh content. Now, the second major update has arrived, and there is a lot to dig into.

That’s right, while Americans have been stuffing Turkey and all sorts of other goodies in our gobs, Neon Abyss 2’s titular abyss has deepened. The second update is considered a milestone, adding extra boss content and more. Here is what the press release says about the new update:

“Prepare to dive back into the madness: Neon Abyss 2 is expanding with its second Major Update, available right now on Steam.

This milestone update brings a brand-new playable Agent, three formidable bosses, and significant multiplayer and visual improvements.

And ICYMI, a whole bunch of familiar foes have already returned in the recent free DLC, Archenemy Returns.

What can you expect from this Update?

New Agent: Mira

A wild little jester who laughs and dances on the edge of destruction, Mira turns pain into delight. She’s unpredictable, dangerous, and a total blast to play.

HERMES: GOD OF MESSAGES

Hermes moves information at the speed of light through a web of endless signals. The flow of global communication bends to his will. Can you take on and win against this titan of correspondence?

ATHENA: GODDESS OF WISDOM

Her face might be familiar… introduced through the Free DLC “Archenemy Returns,” Athena knows all. She perceives every choice in existence, can you survive her omnipresent gaze?

GOD OF STAND UP: This guy is so hilarious, he might just break your funny bone. But believe us when we tell you this fight is no laughing matter…

The Archenemy Returns DLC is also going to be completely free for anyone who owns the Early Access version of Neon Abyss 2. All 34 bosses from the original Neon Abyss are making their return, and as long as you pick up the DLC (and Neon Abyss 2) before the early access period ends, the DLC will be completely free.

I love playing Neon Abyss 2, and I’m excited to see how the dev team expands and builds upon what was already a great experience. The developer, Veewo Games, has revealed that more updates are on the way too, so we’ll see what comes next.
