We’re nearing that time of year when gift-giving is on everyone’s mind. For those of us who love to play games, it’s well-known that not every gift makes the mark. For every thoughtful gift, there’s someone getting you socks that say something like “don’t talk to me I’m gaming” that you’ll probably never wear. So, we’re going to start a new series guiding folks through great non-gaming gifts for gamers that will fit in well with their interests. First up, collectibles.

TeeTurtle Plushies to Match Someone’s Favorite Game

Let’s say you’re like a few of us here at PhenixxGaming and couldn’t put Hello Kitty Idland Adventure down this year. Or, maybe someone is diving head-first into SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide and loving it. TeeTurtle is a brand known for high-quality plushies that reverse and show off two sides of some famous characters. They have many options that will thrill any fan of Sanrio, Dungeons & Dragons, or other top IP. It’s a great piece to throw on a bookshelf, gaming desk, or keep around the house for a little joy.

Magic: The Gathering‘s Many Gaming Collaborations Make Shopping Easy

Do you know a fanatic for Final Fantasy who has played through the remake games over and over? Launching December 5th, the new Final Fantasy VII Commander Deck from Magic: The Gathering could be just what you’re looking for. I learned to play Magic using a commander deck, but even if the recipient uses the cards for display or collectibles, the art on this set is gorgeous. There’s a lot of other great collaborations as well, including Avatar: The Last Airbender and Spider-Man, which are also great gaming-adjacent gift ideas.

Gotta Catch ‘Em All – Pokémon Collectibles, That Is

From holiday countdown calendars to stuffed Pokémon, there is no shortage of ways to gift-give a Pokémon fan in your life. This might be the most apparent option on our list, but it’s a sure-fire way to make someone happy. From cards to figures, there is so much great merch on the online Pokémon Store that it’s hard to choose. Of course, as your friend or loved one is working through the new Legends: Z-A DLC, they’ll be happy to do so in a room with some great merch.

There’s a giant Lucario life-sized plush in the store, and even cute ornaments for someone’s decorating needs. Needless to say, after decades of merchandising, The Pokémon Company knows what it’s doing. Rather than risk buying them a game they already have, go with something cute they can collect or keep around the house!
