Whisper of the House is a pixel-art title that combines two things I often drag my feet to do in real life, but makes them cozy and comforting: decorating and organizing. With over 170,000 wishlists on Steam, I know I’m not alone in this struggle. The game, developed by GD Studio, is out now and maintains a 93% positive rating. Whisper of the House has been played by 100,000 users already. If you’re itching for your next cozy gaming obsession, this might be it, folks.
In Whisper of the House, you play as a legendary housekeeper who helps residents of a town clean, organize, move, and arrange their spaces to make them more efficient and pleasing to the eye. While residents have their own expectations, you’ll also uncover secrets that play a massive role in how they perceive their space and themselves. In some projects, you’re given an empty room, some furniture, and a theme. It’s up to you from there to navigate how to make the ideal space.
The pixel art of this title is certainly right in line with what many love about these cozy, laid-back gaming experiences. That’s also true of the town’s exploration features, which allow you to interact with cats, explore alleyways, and more. You’ll earn money on these jobs, which can be used to purchase and decorate your own home with over 1,800 pieces of furniture. Everything from wallpaper to flooring and patterns of furniture are fair game.
Whisper of the House is now available on Steam. Please let us know in the comments if you plan to give it a try and get organized. In the game, that is. Your real life? That’s nobody’s business.
