Pokémon Sleep hasn’t necessarily caught the world on fire like Pokémon Go, but it has received consistent support and updates since its launch. One of the big questions around the app’s launch was whether it could provide insight into someone’s actual sleep habits. While the platform does help users learn more about their sleep habits and find ways to improve their sleep cycles, it has always felt a little half-baked. Luckily, compatibility with one of the world’s leading smartwatch brands is likely to make the app’s efficacy much stronger. Here’s what we know about Garmin’s new functionality with Pokémon Sleep.
Pokémon Sleep is now compatible with Garmin smartwatches, giving Garmin smartwatch owners the ability to track their sleep and study Pokémon sleep styles. Along with the launch, two new faces are available. “Pokémon Sleep: Snorlax & Friends” and “Pokémon Sleep: I Choose You” will be available (at no cost) to download on select Garmin smartwatches via Garmin’s Connect IQ Store app. While the app on its own attempts to grab data from your sleep, including whether you’re getting deep rest or waking up, a smart device offers much richer data. Adding Garmin to its offering really helps Pokémon Sleep feel like it’s stepping up a level.

Apple Health data and Fitbit devices have been working with the Pokémon Sleep app for some time now. It’s still great to see Garmin added to the mix, particularly as people in the running and walking communities seem to be really gravitating toward the Garmin ecosystem. As someone who took up running in 2021, I have seen so many friends or folks online ditch their Apple Watch or Fitbit for a Garmin in recent years. Luckily for them, they’ll now be able to jump into Pokémon Sleep, and they should try to do it soon.
Trainers who register and track sleep data on Garmin smartwatches between March 13, 2026, and November 1, 2026, will receive a gift of three Poké Biscuits for in-app. Depending on the age of your Garmin watch, your device may or may not be compatible with Pokémon Sleep.
