Geoff, we need to talk. Whoever thought that making The Game Awards a second round of Summer Game Fest needs a good Bayonetta-esque punishment (y’all know what I mean). To kick off The Game Awards “season”, last week we had a PC Gaming Show, which could go great, or terribly. Let’s see what we got, shall we?
We’re skipping the pre-show, as that’s already long enough and I’d rather not be here all day. The show started off with an overly dramatic beginning to the overarching “story” of this showcase. Seriously, do they have to do some stupid storyline every time? Let’s get to the games!
The show’s actual reveals started with 3 back-to-back trailers. The first was for Chaos Manufacturing’s cyber-samurai epic, Sol: Shogunate. It asks the question: ”What if Atsu were a cyber samurai and fought robots?” Though I’m confused about the shot involving the main character on a horse. Wouldn’t it suffocate in space? You can wishlist it now on Steam.
The second game traded space Samurai for efficiency and automation. Substructure has you automating mining and factories not just on the surface of a planet, but on a second layer and presumably more. You can wishlist Dubious Design’s Substructure now.
The third trailer was for a crazy racing game. Carmageddon: Rogue Shift feels like Burnout meets Twisted Metal, in the wildest way. Unlike the other two trailers, Rogue Shift is set to come to PC and all major console platforms in Early 2026.
After another annoying interlude, we got another small gameplay look at Reanimal, the next project behind the developers of Little Nightmares I and II. Reanimal is coming on February 13th, 2026.
The next segment covered Rogue Point, a multiplayer FPS that will probably be on Twitch and YouTube for a week and then get forgotten because the market is oversaturated. Rogue Point is a squad-based FPS that looks like a mix of Payday, Rainbow Six Siege and a few others. We’ll see if it has some longevity to it. Crowbar Collective’s Rogue Point will be out at some point; you can wishlist it now.
Next up is something Keiran will drool over. Nutmeg! A Football management game (not American Football) got a trailer. Nutmeg! Is a deckbuilding Football management game that mixes elements of Football Manager with card-based gameplay. Nutmeg! Will be released on March 26th, 2026. I’m not really the guy to be excited for this, but I know Keiran will be.
The next trailer is a game I’ve had my eye on for a bit. Mio: Memories in Orbit is an action Rogue-lite with Metroidvania elements that has you seemingly restoring your memories as mechanical creatures try to take you for themselves. It will be available on January 20th, 2026, for PC and all major consoles.
After that, we got a trailer for a game called Ferocious, which seems to be Turok + Jurassic Park + Far Cry. It looks pretty low-budget, but for fans of games like Dino Crisis (or the above comparisons), I think it could be fun. Ferocious is available now.
Then we got another look at Grave Seasons, the horror-esque Stardew Valley-type game that I’ve had my eye on. You can wishlist Grave Seasons now, ahead of its 2026 launch date on PC and all major console platforms.
From spooky to cute, we have Animalkind, a new life-sim game where you play a dog in a mech, building a town for animals. This looks adorable, and I cannot wait to play it. Technically, you can play a dog, cat, or raccoon, so you aren’t limited to the corgi shown in the trailer. You can play the demo now, but Animalkind will enter Early Access in Spring 2026.
From cute back to spooky and bloody, we look at a trailer for Ex Sanguis, a grid-based tactical RPG. It looks amazing, and you can play the public playtest now on Steam.
The next segment was a trailer for Neath, the next game from the developers of Rogue Legacy and Rogue Legacy 2. Already I’m sold. It looks to be a tactical grid-based game where you control your characters but also have various abilities that help you manipulate the “board.” It looks great, and I am excited to see more in 2026.
From Neath, we went to another segment I’m excited for, Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. We know that the game is coming in 2026, but I can’t help but be incredibly excited. I need it yesterday, please? Anyway, it is coming to PC and all major platforms in 2026, at some point.
The next segment was a trailer for a dog-matching game. That’s right, you match dogs to make bigger dogs. It’s weird but also pretty fun-looking. The trailer says Dogpile will be out this year, but with the end of the year quickly approaching, we’re either gonna get a delay or a surprise drop at one of the showcases this week.
Next up was a trailer for Cairn, a more serious version of Peak. Cairn is coming to PC and PlayStation 5 on January 29th, 2026, and I’ll admit I’m curious. It seems fairly simple, but the story is probably what will pull people in.
Then we moved to an interesting sci-fi story called Lunar Strike: Bring down the sky. While the memory-based storyline looked interesting, I couldn’t help but be unnerved by the uncanny valley of the character models. I don’t know that I’ll play this one, but someone will like it, I’m sure. Lunar Strike is set to release in May 2026.
After a set of advertisements, we moved on to a small, obnoxious bit of the “overarching story” before leading into a segment on Killing Floor 3. The segment discussed the upcoming Season 2, offering new guns and story content, including a “fan-favorite” character. Season 2 is available now, so go check it out if you’re interested.
Next was a segment on Clockwork Revolution, which interested me during the Summer Game Fest. The segment showcased a small slice of the time-bending first-person RPG at some point. The release is still set as “in due time,” so I’ll be waiting until they make it available, and I’m itching to see more.
Then there was a small trailer for Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes, which is coming in Early 2026. It is a 4X-style Battlestar game heading straight to PC.
The developer of Sable also stopped in to discuss Eteo Archetypes, their new website, and newsletter. Their next gaming project isn’t far enough along to talk about yet, but with Sable being so interesting, I’m willing to wait.
The next game, Recur, was one I hadn’t seen before. You can wishlist Recur now, where you play as a mailman who has to use time-bending powers to stop the world from ending, I think? It looks cool, I just want to see more.
Next up was a trailer for PVKK, the game where you operate a planetary defense cannon. There are some Inscryption and Papers, Please vibes in here. I’m really curious to see more. PVKK will be coming in Summer 2026, so wishlist it now.
Soulmask appeared next with a new trailer. The Egyptian-themed fantasy game looks to be a survival game with a lot of cool building and exploration. Soulmask 1.0 and its first DLC will be released in Spring 2026.
Then we got a trailer for an upcoming time-travel visual novel called Epoch Reset. In Epoch Reset, you play as a scientist who must utilize his time machine to stop the end of the world and save those he cares about along the way. You can wishlist Epoch Reset now.
Starship Troopers is back with a new game. After an annoying interlude from the “overarching story,” we received a new trailer for Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War. The trailer revealed an early 2026 launch window, so we’ll have to see what they reveal next. Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War is coming to PC and all major consoles.
Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core was the next segment, revealing more about the upcoming spinoff in the Deep Rock Galactic series. The trailer revealed one of the new classes coming to Rogue Core, the Retcon class. This class is able to set a point in spacetime and return to it, allowing for quick escapes or strategic combat. Rogue Core is coming to Early Access in 2026.
For a more retro feel, Queen’s Domain might catch your attention. Queen’s Domain is a dungeon crawler with a retro PS1 vibe. I’m curious about the game now, as it has a variety of weapon types and mechanics that look interesting. You can wishlist it now and check out a Steam demo.
Another trailer for another game we saw at Summer Game Fest. We saw Dark Switch during SGF, and now we’ve got a very similar trailer from before. Except now, we know that Dark Switch is coming to PC on the 12th of March.
The next trailer was for Hello Sunshine, a game that I can only describe as a Post-Apocalyptic version of The Iron Giant, except with an adult protagonist. You can wishlist Hello Sunshine now and sign up for an upcoming playtest.
High on Life 2 showed up next, showcasing the skateboarding mechanic. The Skateboard is used for both traversal and combat, and actually looks interesting. You can Pre-order High on Life 2 now, ahead of its February 13th, 2026, release date.
Thick as Thieves showed up next, a game that I haven’t heard about in a while. The multiplayer thievery/social deduction game will be available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles. I’m sure with the Switch 2 having Gamechat now, we may see it there at some point, too.
Next up was Last Flag, another shooter that will likely fade into obscurity after a few months. Last Flag is a 5v5 capture the flag style game (as the title indicates). It doesn’t look bad, and I respect the developers’ passion for it, but I’m not sure there’s enough in the concept to keep people interested. Last Flag had a demo over the weekend, but you can wishlist it now.
I won’t lie, I’m actually excited for this next game, even though I usually don’t play horror games. Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival is a Hellraiser experience created by the man himself. There is so much queer history involved in the Hellraiser franchise that people seem to forget about. As such, I’m excited to see and experience a Hellraiser game made from the mind of Clive Barker. The trailer showcased the action, the unnerving nature, and the grisly side of Hellraiser, along with the leather and chains that inspired it in so many ways. Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival can be wishlisted now, but we still don’t have a launch date.
From the Lament Configuration to witches on broomsticks, we have a trailer for Witchspire, a multiplayer cozy game. Witchspire will let you build your home base and explore a world with your allies, casting spells and facing mysterious creatures and ruins. You can wishlist Witchspire now.
The life-sim genre is evolving! Our next trailer was a monster-collection game mixed with a city-building life sim. Tamer Town is coming in 2026 to PC and all major console platforms. I’m pretty interested in this one, but I’ll need to see more to say for sure.
Next is a game I’ve been watching for a while now. Crimson Desert is a Single-player RPG by the developers of Black Desert Online. We’ve seen a few trailers over the years for this one, and I’m cautiously optimistic. Crimson Desert will be released on March 19th, 2026.
Then we move to a segment about a game I forgot about. Marvel’s Blade is definitely something I’ve got my eye on. Developed by Arkane, you’ll join the titular Daywalker on an adventure in Paris. We don’t know much about it yet, but hopefully we’ll hear more soon, possibly even this week.
The closed beta for Spellcasters Chronicles happened over the weekend. The 3v3 Hero-Shooter(?)/MOBA/Tower Defense game had 6 playable characters during the beta, showing off a variety of playstyles.
After a small advertisement break and an annoying overarching story segment, we got a trailer for When Sirens Fall Silent. The trailer showcased an interesting mystery, and while we don’t know much about the game yet, you can wishlist it now.
The next game is Factorio meets…god? I’m not sure how else to describe the trailer they showed here. With a little bit of The Talos Principle mixed with games like Factorio and Satisfactory, Modulus seems interesting. There is a demo available now on Steam.
Guild Wars fans will also be pleased by this next segment. The original Guild Wars is back, free to play, and is entirely Steam Deck compatible. Guild Wars: Reforged is available now on PC.
The next World Premiere was for Wardrum, developed by the creators of Fashion Police Squad. Wardrum is a tactical action-Rogue-like rhythm game, which…they had me until the rhythm part. You can wishlist Wardrum now.
Next was another trailer/segment on Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. Admittedly, as a fan of the Marvel Vs Capcom games, I’m interested in this. Particularly, though, I love the Japanese interpretations of some of the characters. Marvel Tokon is coming in 2026, though we aren’t sure when.
Then we had a pre-alpha trailer for Den of Wolves, the heist shooter created by the original Payday developers. Sadly, there isn’t much to say about the game yet, but you can wishlist it now.
Last Man Sitting looks stupid…in the absolute best way possible. A shooter entirely based on people in chairs? The accessibility representation writes itself. The Open Beta closed on Sunday, but I hope folks got a good look. Hopefully, we’ll get a release date soon.
The next World Premiere was for a bizarre retro fishing game (appropriately) called About Fishing. I’m not exactly sure how to describe it, so watch the trailer I have linked in this article. About Fishing can be wishlisted now on PC and PlayStation 5
Arma 4 took the next segment, which doesn’t have a release window yet. The devs said they were “allocating staff to finish” the game, so who knows when we’ll get it.
Another interesting game came next. Gods, Death & Reapers looks like an ARPG Rogue-like where you take on all kinds of creatures as you die and come alive again. Gods, Death & Reapers will be coming to Early Access in 2026.
Down with the Ship showed up next. It looked like Tetris meets FTL meets Backpack Hero. There is a demo available now, so check it out if you’re interested.
We also got to see pre-alpha gameplay of Unyverse, an Afrofuturistic RPG. There isn’t much to say yet, but what we saw looked interesting. You can wishlist it now, too.
Star Wars Zero Company was the next game on the list. This segment spent plenty of time showcasing the upcoming X-Com-esque game set in the Star Wars universe. Star Wars Zero Company is coming in 2026, and admittedly, I am actually curious about this one.
Let it Die Inferno dropped a new trailer too, which would be interesting if the game wasn’t covered in AI-created content. Sure, it’s colorful and all, and the action might be fun, but it just seems soulless and bland. If you are interested in Let it Die Inferno, you can pick it up now. Otherwise, maybe we should just follow the title’s instructions and let it die?
We’re returning to Haddonfield in the next segment. Halloween: A Single-Player and Multiplayer Experience will be released on September 8th, 2026. The trailer looked pretty detailed and interesting, but it’s a little odd that they didn’t show any sort of gameplay.
Next up was Streets of Fortuna, a sandbox RPG “megasim” inspired by the real-world Constantinople. If you steal, you’re arrested. If you don’t eat, you starve. It’s a pretty in-depth game from what they showed, and it’ll be interesting to see how the game grows and develops. Streets of Fortuna’s Alpha testing will open sometime in 2026.
Dawn of War 4 was next up, revealing a new trailer for the popular RTS franchise’s next entry. Dawn of War 4 is coming in 2026, and you can wishlist it now.
A trailer for a gothic bullet-hell shooter was next. Luna Abyss seems interesting, drenched in vibrant red and all sorts of mechanical enemies. It is coming in 2026, though they haven’t exactly nailed down when.
Are you interested in space dogfights? Remnant Protocol seems like it might be up your alley. They provided a stylized trailer, but we don’t have much detail on the game beyond that. Remnant Protocol will be released on March 12th, 2026, and you can wishlist it now.
A World Premiere was next up with a trailer for Rivage, a time-loop puzzle Rogue-like. We got a small slice of what the game’s premise will be, but we won’t know more until later in 2026. It is an interesting game though, and it gives off Blue Prince vibes, which is cool.
Hello Games’ Light no Fire was part of the next segment. I’ll admit, the developers claiming that the game world will be 1 to 1 with Earth is way too ambitious to actually work. I’m also a little tired from all the survival crafting games available now, so we’ll see if that fatigue persists. There’s no release window yet, but I’m sure some folks are frothing at the mouth for it.
We went from a game I’m skeptical of to one I am eager to try. Rhell: Warped Worlds & Troubled Times is an adventure game where you play a magical character named Rhell, who can combine all sorts of spells to explore, solve puzzles, and complete quests. Rhell: Warped Worlds & Troubled Times will be available on March 19th, 2026.
As a fan of the Bullet Heaven genre, Be My Horde is going right on my wishlist. You play a necromancer who builds an army of creatures and fights waves of enemies. Be My Horde is on Steam in Early Access now, and it just got a new update.
A weird World Premiere came next. I’m not sure how to describe Space Warlord Baby Trading Simulator beyond the words – Stock market but selling babies – in sci-fi. Look, the hate mail can go to the devs; I just relay the message. You can play a demo now on Steam.
Nioh 3 was the next segment, with a bit of information from the development team. We also got a release date. Nioh 3 will be released on PC on February 6th, 2026.
A trailer for Regions of Ruin: Runegate was next. While we don’t have a launch date yet, you can play a Demo on Steam now.
Starsand Island had a small segment with a new trailer. The trailer was really cute, and pre-orders are set to be available soon.
Fans of Disco Elysium might like the next one. Esoteric Ebb seems like a Disco Elysium-esque RPG with a D&D flair. Esoteric Ebb is set to release in Spring 2026.
Co-op fans should be interested in this next game. Big Walk is a cute co-op hiking game with all sorts of things to find and puzzles to overcome together. We don’t have a release date yet, but the game looks really fun anyway. You can wishlist it on Steam now.
Capcom’s Onimusha franchise also stopped for a segment. Onimusha: Way of the Sword is coming in 2026, though we don’t have much info on a release date yet. Onimusha: Way of the Sword is coming to PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles.
Of course, Capcom’s other upcoming hit in the making also showed up. Resident Evil: Requiem had a small segment. I imagine we’ll see a larger segment during The Game Awards itself, so this small segment wasn’t a surprise. The segment advertised a Resident Evil Showcase for early next year, which will give more information on Requiem. Resident Evil Requiem will be released on February 27th, 2026.
A World Premiere trailer popped up next, this time for another game in the Dusk franchise. Dungeons of Dusk is bloody and intense, though Turn-based. There’s no release date yet, but you can wishlist it now.
Then we got another World Premiere for The House of Hikmah. This narrative puzzle adventure already has me intrigued, and it looks beautiful. The House of Hikmah will be released sometime in 2026.
The next premiere was for Samson: A Tyndalston Story. It looks to be a GTA-esque game, though probably more linear and contained. There’s no release date yet, but we’ll see how this one turns out.
The Relic: First Guardian got a new trailer as well. This Souls-like game seems to have a solid narrative behind it, which is more than just the typical environmental storytelling. We don’t have a release date yet, but it seems interesting anyway.
Splitgate took a moment to advertise its upcoming release on December 17th. It seems like after last year’s faux pas, the team went back to basics. Splitgate: Arena Reloaded aims to be a mashup of everything that worked from the first and second releases. Splitgate: Arena Reloaded will be free on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox on December 17th. I’ve already made my point about the oversaturated shooter market, haven’t I?
That segment moved into another World Premiere, for Fullbright Studios’ Springs, Eternal. The retro PS1 graphics in this moody narrative game seem really on point. I can’t quite tell if the game is a full horror experience or just a narrative with supernatural horror elements in it. Regardless, Springs, Eternal is coming in 2026. You can wishlist it now on Steam.
There was a small segment on RGG studios’ Stranger than Heaven, but it wasn’t anything that we hadn’t seen before. This led to another World Premiere for a curious little point and click, similar to The Curse of the Golden Idol.
Inkblood is a supernatural investigation game with horror elements. It doesn’t really seem like the game itself is meant to be scary, more that it just has darker elements like murder and whatnot involved. You can wishlist it now. I know I have.
Another trailer zoomed by in a flash. Away from Home seems like a surreal rhythm game with action and puzzle elements. You can wishlist it now, and it was originally meant to release on December 5th. It is now being released on December 19th, so keep an eye out for that. I would warn any photosensitive folks to be wary of that trailer, though.
Next was a trailer for another game I was interested in at SGF. Damon and Baby is coming in Early 2026. This top-down action game with an unlikely pair has me very interested. You can wishlist it now.
Wanna be a Pirate? Windrose might be right up your alley. It looks to be exactly what Sea of Thieves and Skull and Bones wanted to be. You can wishlist it now.
Next was a small segment on how PC Gamer is looking forward to Haunted Chocolatier. Not gonna lie, while this showcase and their shenanigans have made me want to chew nails…I’m with them on this one. ConcernedApe’s work is great, and I can’t wait to see more.
We got another look at 007: First Light, and I’m honestly wondering if I’m even going to need to play the game with so much being shown in trailers. Okay, maybe I’m a little grumpy because I’d rather see other stuff here, but still. 007: First Light is releasing on March 27th, 2026.
Slay the Spire 2 got the title of PC Gamer’s Most Wanted Game for 2025, and I have to agree with them here, too. I can’t wait to see Slay the Spire 2 in all of its glory. Sure, there are other games I really want to play (Control 2), but I’m well aware that when I get Slay the Spire 2, I’ll be playing it for a long time. It’ll be my next obsession after being hooked on Cloverpit this year. Slay the Spire 2 will be released in March 2026, and you can wishlist it now.
With that last segment, the PC Gaming Show: Most Wanted 2025 showcase came to a close. It could have been half as long and still contained just as much information. Also, I feel like they should have put their Most Wanted games separately from the world premiere trailers, because some of them didn’t really have new information (so I didn’t include sections here). What are you looking forward to most for next year? Let us know in the comments.
