Arguably, one of Sony’s unsung heroes in its lineup of game franchises is MLB The Show. Revered for its realism, live-service offerings, and fantastic baseball sim options, the team at San Diego Studio does an incredible job year in and year out to produce a fantastic sports video game. With both Madden NFL and NBA 2K finding success with mobile offerings, it was rumored earlier this year that Sony might look to do the same with its baseball franchise. Currently, players in a select region are among the first to get to the plate for the newly announced MLB The Show Mobile.

The mobile game announcement came with an overview of what players can expect in this version of MLB The Show. From specialized sliding, pitching, and batting controls, playing the game on mobile looks to be very intuitive. With all 30 MLB teams and their real-life stadiums in-game, over 16,000 unique animations are going to do its best to match the quality fans have come to expect from Sony’s San Diego Studio. There will be a Squad experience, PvP matchups, a historic moments mode, and plenty of ways to play this game on-the-go.

Newly announced for MLB The Show Mobile, the Momentum system is going to come with each player card and allow you to cast an ability that pushes your player’s stats up in key moments. Each player comes with unique abilities that can be activated with Momentum, and using it at the right time could be the difference between a win or a loss. San Diego Studio also teases that you’ll be able to pick your batters and pitchers in real-time, allowing you to pair Momentum with the star that gives you the best shot in that moment to come away with a win.

MLB The Show Mobile is available now via a limited regional release in the Philippines for iOS via App Store and Android via Google Play. You can sign up now to learn when the game is available to you.
