Terra Firma 2 Now in Early Access

It is interesting that Terra Firma 2 is in development even after developer Working as Intended’s original game just launched its 1.0 version back in February. With that said, fans of the first game now have this highly anticipated sandbox to play in, with a lot of fun things to come.

Working as Intended revealed that Terra Firma 2 is now in Early Access as of yesterday, October 27, 2025. Along with a new launch trailer, the dev team revealed all sorts of details via a new press release. Here is what the press release says about the Early Access launch:

“Sydney-based Working as Intended’s highly anticipated sandbox, simulation god game Terra Firma 2 launches today on Steam in Early Access, with a brand new launch trailer.

Terra Firma 2 is a powerful simulation of natural forces, giving you the creative freedom to sculpt entire worlds to your liking. Use intuitive tools to alter terrain, adjust rainfall, change temperatures, and tweak tectonic activity.

The launch trailer highlights some additional features that are available now, including the Campaign Mode, which allows players to complete challenges by altering pre-rendered world environments, as well as the ability to export player creations into voxel-based games like Minecraft.

Your changes set the stage, but the simulation takes over—generating lifelike rivers, eroding mountains, growing forests, and populating ecosystems down to individual plants and animals.

Harnessing the full power of modern GPUs, Terra Firma 2 simulates worlds at an unprecedented scale. Maps can span up to 16,000 km², simulating centuries of natural evolution in seconds, all while allowing you to zoom in to observe wildlife and terrain changes in real time.”
