Monday, Twitter still doesn’t shut up about “Women’s management delayed the game and deleted International management” from FM26, despite the fact that neither is true. In fact, Sports Interactive announced the full FIFA license for FM26 and beyond, with the beta now live. Tuesday, BLACKWOOD, that weird double-A looking John Wick ’em up, got a new gameplay reveal video. Wednesday, Service with a Shotgun got a November release date, allowing me to live out my fantasy of shooting customers in Supermarket Sim for having odd change. Thursday, nothing happened because it is October, and the only gaming news is releases.
Moving on to this week’s offerings on the Epic Games Store, Fear the Spotlight. Released last year, Fear the Spotlight acts like it was released in 1996 or 1999 under the title Quiet Wicked Inhabitant on the Mountain – a horror game with the overall style of a PS1 game because nostalgia sells. A third-person horror adventure with puzzles and presumably jump scares from Not-Pyramid Head, I think I’d prefer watching this one rather than playing, honestly. Similar to the demo Alexx covered this week, I like the look of the style, but from a watching rather than playing perspective.

The second offering, available through the Epic Games Store for mobile globally on Android and in the EU for iOS, is Doodle Farm: Breeds & Beasts. The most messed-up Bad Dragon-sponsored video I’ve seen on the internet. Released originally in 2018 on Steam, it was JoyBits milking this cow until you could only make lean beef out of it. I’ve given my thoughts on mobile gaming and Doodle God, Doodle Mafia, and Doodle Devil before. I don’t think it is the best thing the studio/publisher did. For that, I’d say play Varenje, it’s free and a bit more interesting.
All this week, you can pick up Fear the Spotlight on the Epic Games Store for PC and Doodle Farm for the Epic Games Store for mobile until the 30th of October. Moving on to next week, and it is a Halloween double-bill, to which I say POO! First up will be Bendy and the Ink Machine, a first-person puzzle game in a Fleischer-ish style, but goes for something a bit more modern with the whole 3D-ness of it. The second offering is Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit – and there goes my credibility. After a kid tried to explain FNaF lore years ago, I can no longer ignore it.
