Marvel Cosmic Invasion Roster Adds Fan Favorite and One Big Surprise

Marvel Cosmic Invasion is a highly anticipated game for 2025, despite the release date still being unknown. While we don’t have a release date, we do have two new characters joining the roster of the retro-inspired tag-team beat ’em up. Here’s what we know thanks to a fun trailer from publisher Dotemu.

Two characters are now joining the roster for Marvel Cosmic Invasion, and one of them is a pretty big surprise to me. Firstly, the inclusion of Black Panther makes a ton of sense, and players will get to pounce on foes with voice acting from James Mathis III, following his work within Marvel Rivals and the Avengers Assemble animated series. The other addition, voiced by Brian Bloom, will be Cosmic Ghost Rider, a deadly version of the popular hero some gamers who don’t keep up with comics might not recognize.

In an alternate timeline, Thanos conquers everything in the Universe, and when he makes his way to Earth-616, he starts killing all of the planet’s heroes. When Frank Castle, typically known as The Punisher, is slain, he heads to Hell and says he’ll give up his soul to go back to Earth and fight Thanos. Mephisto, loving this idea, sends him back to Earth as Ghost Rider, only for Castle to find that Thanos is gone and everything and everyone is dead. Enter Galactus, making Ghost Rider his new herald, and donning the name Cosmic Ghost Rider, beginning a quest to kill Thanos.

The roster for Marvel Cosmic Invasion is shaping up to be stellar. The only thing I need now is a release date, along with all of the other retro Marvel arcade game fans. With only a little over three months left in the 2025 calendar year, we hopefully won’t have to wait much longer. The game is slated for a 2025 release on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
