If you want to grab this month’s Humble Choice bundle, you’re almost out of time to do so. You’ve got until Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025, at 10 AM Pacific Time to snag a copy of the bundle or send it as a gift to any interested friends. That’s assuming you haven’t already obtained the bundle if you’ve got an existing subscription, of course. I’ve prepared a brief rundown of August’s Humble Choice selections. August’s Humble Choice bundle offers eight games, all of which can be redeemed on Steam, plus two additional bonuses that may or may not interest you.

Up first is this bundle’s “headliner,” Persona 5 Royal. I must begin this entry with a sentiment that will quickly become a recurring theme as I continue writing roundups of monthly Humble Choice bundles: I know nothing about the Persona franchise, nor Persona 5 Royal specifically. All I know is that Persona 5 Royal is the latest mainline entry in a wildly popular JRPG series, and that every main Persona title available on Steam has “overwhelmingly positive” reviews. Since Persona 5 Royal is normally $60, getting it for $15 along with seven other games might be a great deal for you.

Next up is Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, from developer Dontnod and publisher Focus Entertainment. You play as two such Banishers, Antea Duarte and Red Mac Raith, as they carry out their solemn duties in the year 1695. It seems these two and their fellow Banishers are basically the 15th Century’s equivalent of the Ghostbusters, although they rely on magic as opposed to highly dangerous modern-day technology. Relatedly, I can’t help but wonder how Banishers are contacted by those who need their services. After all, without telecommunications technology, there’s no way to answer the question, “Who ya’ gonna call?”

Up next is My Time at Sandrock, from developer Pathea Games. Two titles developed by Pathea Games are available in this bundle; we’ll get to the second of them momentarily. My Time at Sandrock gives away a good portion of its core gameplay loop in its title: You find yourself in a desert full of sand and rocks, and you’re going to be spending quite a bit of time there. My Time at Sandrock, like the earlier My Time at Portia, is a life-sim game that tasks you with building up the titular area and creating thriving villages.

Pathea Games now makes their second appearance in this bundle with Let’s School!. As someone who survived thirteen years of the American public education system, I’ve never been able to summon any enthusiasm toward anything having to do with school. Let’s School! seems to aim to persuade curmudgeons like myself to reconsider that stance by placing your character in the role of a school principal. You’ll have to manage several aspects to restore your school to its former glory, from constructing additional buildings to tending to the needs of teachers and students alike.

We now turn to Lil Gator Game, from developer MegaWobble and publisher Playtonic Friends. This is one of those games that largely does what it says on the tin. As you’ve probably guessed, you play as a physically diminutive alligator who has a whole island to explore and use as your own personal playground. You’ll be able to wander around at your leisure to discover what sorts of wonders the island in question has to offer and meet quite a few new friends. It seems that nearly everyone you meet could use your help with something, so you’ll have plenty to do.

In keeping with the theme of physically small characters traveling to and fro, up next is Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip. Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip tells the tale of the titular Teeny Terrance trying to take his trusty taxi on a trek to a transcendental target. Or, to rephrase that without all the alliteration, Terry’s ultimate goal is to get his car ready to transport him to space by any means necessary. If you want to read more about Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip before helping Terry leave this terrestrial plane, I would humbly suggest that you check out Mike’s review of it.

Next, we’ve got Wildmender, from the team of developer Muse Games and publisher Kwalee. Wildmender’s Steam Store page describes it as a “desert gardening survival game” in which you’ll “start from a tiny spring and cultivate a blooming garden” while you “defend against the relentless forces of nature and mysterious wraith corruption to bring life to a dying world.” To phrase that in a way that might appeal to my fellow Warcraft fans (especially those who mainly play Druids), I get the impression that Wildmender offers you a chance to, for lack of a better term, “bring out your inner Malfurion Stormrage.”

The last game offered in this Humble Choice bundle is Warpips, from developer Skirmish Mode Games and publisher Daedalic Entertainment. Warpips combines elements from the real-time strategy, tower defense, and auto-battler genres to present what it calls “the ultimate quick to learn but amazingly deep tug-of-war strategy game.” I would ordinarily take this chance to make a pun referencing the rather stereotypical British South Park character named Pip, but I can’t think of any, so I suppose I’ll just have to say “cheerio” to this entry and move on. That brings us to the two additional offerings contained in this bundle.

Purchasing this bundle will give you access to the Steam playtest for the upcoming title Aksun, though I’m unfortunately covering this bundle at an unfortunate time for those who might be interested in this playtest. The Aksun playtest started on August 8th and will conclude sometime on August 29th, so it may well have already ended by the time this article is published. The other bonus in this bundle is a one-month subscription to IGN Plus, which offers you some perks on the site whose owners acquired Humble Bundle back in 2017. I shall return when September’s Humble Choice bundle launches!
