Monday, nothing happened because everyone is depressed, and there is nothing to talk about. Tuesday, there is a new documentary on Daemon X Machina, and there is a new Clive Barker game coming soon and it is the first Hellraiser game. Wednesday, Nicktoons and the Dice of Destiny got a trailer, and Catto’s Post Office got a release date. Thursday, a new Critical Role game is developed by AdHoc Studio. Also on Thursday, The Iron Sheik and Jesse Ventura were happy that the Jabroni Hulk Hogan is dead. They are not the only ones.
Moving on to the free game available on the Epic Games Store, it is terribly dull this week. Legion TD 2 is one of those games that’s awfully dull. The developer, Autoattack Games, is owned by Ninja Kiwi, which made that awful 3D tower defense Bloons TD 6, which is the worst-of-the-worst example of tower defense. Well, Legion TD 2 is the same idea of tower defense, but in multiplayer. That makes it worse by default in my view. If you like it, that’s great, but I find the concept dull.
If you want a good bit of Tower Defense, there is a weird sci-fi RTS thing called HYPERNOVA: Escape from Hadea that’s great. However, if you’re looking for something that’s a bit more top-down shooter and tower defense, EXOR Studios’ X-Morph: Defense is fantastic. I previously recommended it to David, who enjoys tower defense more than me, and he enjoys it quite a bit. They aren’t free this week, but they are better suggestions if you’re into interesting tower defense.
Onto the mobile offering, and it is Doodle Mafia, which is one of those mobile “puzzle” games that might as well tell you the answer in scrolling text across the top of the screen. It is one of those really basic, simple puzzles where it gives you a select number of verbs, nouns, and such, and you need to figure out that a person has been murdered when you see a corpse, although it also will give you the word corpse. If you think The Case of the Golden Idol is too challenging, with its whole being smart and logical, then Epic’s offering of Doodle Mafia Epic Alchemy will make you happy.
It is not a great week for Epic. All this week, you can pick up Legion TD 2 on the Epic Games Store for PC, and pick up Doodle Mafia Epic Alchemy on the Epic Games Store for Android worldwide and iOS systems only in the EU, both until the 31st of July. Don’t worry, next week is slightly better with an offering of the strange hand-drawn adventure game Pilgrims as well as Moonana’s 2024 title Keylocker | Turn Based Cyberpunk Action. The latter of which is a turn-based rhythm game inspired by JRPGs, so it’s an indie darling.
