Marvelous Games, in collaboration with documentary creators Archipel, has released a Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion documentary about the making of the upcoming game. The video, which was released as a pleasant surprise, details new types of mechs, customizable armor options, and new ways to play solo or cooperatively.

While its predecessor found a cult fandom on the Nintendo Switch, a look at the follow-up, coupled with the power of the Switch 2 and the game’s release on all other modern consoles, could make this an underdog Game of the Year contender. Here’s what to expect in the Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion documentary.

Archipel, a documentary production company, has released a Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion documentary for the upcoming game. The game is set to release on September 5, 2025 and is a follow-up to the Nintendo Switch title released in 2019. In the original, you play a character you make and customize who runs head-first into battles using an Arsenal mech. Between missions, you can customize your mech and your own stats and abilities. The game was a sleeper hit for the Nintendo Switch console, selling a few million copies but being seen as a success by the developers, Marvelous Games.

The documentary highlights Series Producer Kenichiro Tsukuda and their love of mecha and robots. There’s also insight into how the game’s visuals and colors are inspired by the emotions that developers want players to feel. Set at under 20 minutes, it’s a quick look at a game that, I’m so happy, is happening more often. We’ve seen Xbox release some really cool behind-the-scenes content for their games, as well as Kojima Productions, for the process of building the Death Stranding universe. Players love playing games, but for diehards, learning how artists create the games we love is a true treat.

Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion will release on the Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC via Steam on September 5th, 2025. I think there’s a good chance this video sways some folks into getting excited about the title, so give it a try if you have some time.
