Summer Game Fest hasn’t really had a wow moment this year, if you ask me. I’ve enjoyed a lot of the shows, but there aren’t a lot of reveals nowadays that really give me that old-school E3 feeling. With a slate of studios following billions of dollars spent acquiring teams from all over the globe, Xbox really is in a position to wow folks. Did they live up to the call? Here’s our rundown of Xbox Game Showcase 2025.

We kicked things off with the story trailer for The Outer Worlds 2, which showed off more of the same quirky world many loved in the first game from Obsidian. I think for the most part, people excited about this one are already in on it, and many who are weary might need to try the first one to really know if it’s for them. Still, it was a fun way to start the show.

Next up was a really fun trailer for High on Life 2, coming this winter. If you’re a fan of Rick and Morty, I’d highly recommend checking the first game out and getting excited about this one. After the Justin Roiland scandal kept the creator out of the DLC, it appears he won’t be a part of this one either, so no worries if you’re keeping your eyes on your ethics as well as your gaming.

Next, we got a reveal trailer for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, the next game in a series I absolutely love. This will serve as an origin story for one of the series’ characters and looks to be full of great action and gorgeous visuals.

We knew it was coming, but we got a look at the ROG Xbox Ally next from ASUS. With a dedicated Xbox button and plenty of app integrations like the current ROG Ally, this appears to be a really great way to play games via handheld for those deep into the Xbox ecosystem. We also saw a ton of footage from Hollow Knight: Silksong, which got people eager and hoping for some news on that front later in the show.

The next few trailers included The Blood of Dawnwalker, a third-person action game starring a vampire out for revenge, an announcement for Super Meat Boy 3D, and an official release date for Ninja Gaiden 4, arriving on October 21, 2025. Then, we saw the story reveal for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: The Order of Giants, new DLC arriving this September.

Beast of Reincarnation, a highly visual action game, was revealed next, with a really surprising developer attached. Game Freak, the company and team behind Pokemon will be developing this title, which at first made me do one of those dramatic cartoon double-takes because I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.

Clockwork Revolution, a game that combines the aesthetics of Bioshock: Infinite with an interesting time travel mechanic, looked to be quite interesting. We didn’t get a date for this one, only the promise that it would be out “in due time.” Sort of cute, I guess, but I’d rather you just tell us when it’s coming.

Next was an announcement trailer for Grounded 2, a really underrated survival game I’d highly recommend if you subscribe to Xbox Game Pass. Then, we got to see Cronos: The New Dawn, a horror game that is pulling very heavily from Dead Space. Following this, we saw a peek at The Elder Scrolls Online – Tales of Tamriel, the next big content package for the MMORPG set in the ESO world. A great staple of these Xbox Showcase events for years, and a pretty good MMORPG if you ask me, someone who has barely played any MMORPGs.

Next, Jusant and Vampyr developer Don’t Nod revealed a really interesting space exploration game called Aphelion. I’m not super fluent in the games from this studio, but excited nonetheless.

No Ghosts at the Grand came next, and included a musical number, a little ghost story plot, and a cat whose name is apparantly Mr. Bones the Bastard, according to a preview from Gamespot. The preview labeled this one as a cozy horror game, which is very up my area of interest.

Next up, we saw an expansion for Age of Mythology: Retold – Heavenly Spear, followed by a sci-fi TPS that derives its source material as a Korean webtoon adaptation, titled MUDANG: Two Hearts. Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf was revealed next, followed by Fallout 76: Gone Fission, an expansion for the wasteland’s favorite MMORPG. Then, Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE gave us our first look at the video game adaptation for Crunchyroll’s 2025 Anime of the Year.

File this next one in something I’ll need to play ASAP. Pawprint Studio is bringing us a free-to-play exploration game where you work with a bunch of cute creatures. While I am a bit worried about microtransactions ruining the fun, I do want to give this one a shot.

We got an additional gameplay trailer for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, which is set to release on July 11th. At this point, we’ve gotten to what I consider to be the home stretch and finale of reveals for the show.

At Fate’s End is a gorgeous next project from Spiritfarer developer Thunder Lotus Games. We see things like side-scrolling, dialogue trees, and cardgame mechanics in this trailer, alongside gorgeous graphics. I’m really high on this one and excited to see more down the line in 2026.

We also got a 4K gameplay trailer for Gears of War: Reloaded, which really didn’t probably do much for people uninterested in Gears. People will play this if they love the series, or if they are PlayStation loyalists who haven’t had the chance to play the series yet, since it is now arriving on PS5.

Next, no release date tells me we’re a ways away from this one arriving, but Persona 4 Revival is teased and huge news for people who love their games to be 6,000 hours long. Just kidding, of course.

Next, an Invisible VS trailer showed us a new fighting game from the hit comic series and Amazon Prime TV series. Not too familiar with this IP myself, but I know the show is wildly popular so I hope fans are excited.

Finally, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will come to Xbox consoles. We don’t have a date yet, but we know it will arrive this winter.

The second-to-last reveal comes from Double Fine Studios, and is a great addition to the sentient lighthouse adventure game genre, of which I believe there is only one game. Fans of the Psychonauts franchise and people who just love pretty games that play super well, should be very stoked for this one.

I was shocked by this one, truly if you watch it does not seem like a Call of Duty trailer. Still, the game looks great and we’re coming off of one of the best Black Ops or Call of Duty games in recent memory. It was a weird way to end the show in my opinion, but huge for the millions who play this series day in and day out.
