I do love a diorama-building type of game: SUMMERHOUSE, Outside the Blocks, Tiny Glade, and things like that. It seems, flying under the radar, there is a new and seemingly expansive offering in that realm of the cozy, sandbox design, city-building sphere. The first game from Barcelona-based developer Paidotribo and published by Indie.io, Mini Worlds Dioramas is exactly that: You build mini worlds in cozy little diorama form. As a result of semantic satiation at this point, the word diorama has melted into diarrhea for me. Enjoy that if you haven’t already gotten there too.
Out now on Steam, you can pick up Mini Worlds Dioramas. Here is what the press release says about it:
“Mini Worlds Dioramas is available now on PC via Steam, inviting players to jump in and start building tiny worlds today. Developed by Paidotribo[,] the game delivers a relaxing, creativity-first sandbox where making something small and personal is the entire experience.

Mini Worlds Dioramas is built around the experience of creating tiny worlds, one detail at a time. Players can settle in and shape their dioramas at their own pace, placing scenery, characters, and small touches that gradually bring each space to life. With controls that make building feel effortless, the experience encourages experimentation, iteration, and the simple satisfaction of watching a tiny world come together.“
What I think sets Mini Worlds Dioramas apart in some way is the ability not just to create a cityscape or a fantasy meadow with a ruined castle in it. The press release continues: “Players can explore a range of themed environments, including Sci-Fi, City, Mediterranean, and Western, each offering its own look and feel. These themes give players a starting point, but there’s plenty of freedom to experiment, mix ideas, and build something entirely their own.

As each world comes together, it starts to feel more alive. Weather effects like rain, fog, and snow can be added with a click, while animated characters, animals, and props introduce subtle movement and personality. It’s not just about placing objects — it’s about watching a scene slowly take shape and gain life.“
As you’d expect at this point, you also get free rein to capture your dioramas from any angle and get high-resolution screenshots straight from Mini Worlds Dioramas. So I guess you can add your creations as a desktop background, a phone background, or whatever you like. Released this past Friday, you can currently pick up Mini Worlds Dioramas for $3.99, 20% off the base price of $4.99, until the 17th of April. As well as pick up Steam Bundles with other Indie.io titles like Everholm, Sugar Shack, or Retreat to Enen separately for various prices.
