Dorfromantik, the widely beloved cozy puzzle game from developer and publisher Toukana Interactive, will soon be getting additional content. All the new stuff will come in the form of a paid cosmetic downloadable content pack, as well as a free update available to all players. Toukana Interactive said in a press release that both of these additions are “currently scheduled for release in May/June 2026.” That’s the closest thing we have to an exact release date at the time of writing, and there’s no word whatsoever on how much the new “Medieval Biome Pack” DLC will cost.
Here’s what the press release has to say about the additions coming in the anniversary update:

“One major addition will be integrated leaderboards, allowing competitively minded players to directly view and filter rankings from within the Dorfromantik main menu. The update will also introduce a long-requested community feature: Night Mode. This visual mode dims the game’s colors and replaces the bright daytime palette with soft blue tones and a nighttime landscape, where warm glowing windows illuminate the villages. The mode is designed to be more comfortable for the eyes when playing in the evening or in dimly lit rooms—perfect for a cozy, snackable game like Dorfromantik that many players enjoy to unwind after a long and busy day.”
As for the “Medieval Biome Pack” DLC, the press release said the following: “The Biome Pack focuses on cosmetic changes that give the game’s landscapes and buildings a historical makeover. Iconic tiles will make a leap back in time: The steamboat becomes a medieval trading cog with sails, and the castle ruins will be rebuilt into [a] mighty medieval fortress overlooking the countryside.”

Toukana’s press release also said the “Medieval Biome Pack” will include “different landscape flavours,” though they didn’t elaborate at all as to what they mean by that. Since Toukana seems to want to emphasize that the Medieval Biome Pack DLC is entirely cosmetic, I doubt they’ll charge very much money for it once it releases. That, combined with the upcoming anniversary update adding quality-of-life features that players have been requesting, indicates to me that Toukana has been listening to player feedback and working to implement suggestions from their community. Dorfromantik doesn’t have “Overwhelmingly Positive” Steam reviews for no reason, after all.
The anniversary update and the “Medieval Biome Pack” DLC for Dorfromantik are said to be released sometime in “May/June” this year. Further details, such as price and release date, will be announced “in due course.”
