Considering the temperature in my hometown is threatening to reach 100 degrees Fahrenheit in mid-March, I know nothing of this “Spring” of which you speak. Nevertheless, 2026’s Steam Spring Sale is upon us, and I’ve looked through some of the discounts available between now and March 26th, 2026. I’ve picked out a few of my favorite games that are particularly deeply discounted so I could bring them to your attention. I’ve got a short list of recommendations, and most of the games I’ve picked out aren’t exactly new, but I still think they’re great deals for a “minor” sale. Let’s begin!

Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition | Discount: 75% | Sale Price (USD): $4.99
I know I’ve included Fallout: New Vegas in one of my past Steam sale recommendation roundups, but I want to highlight it again here for two reasons. One, I’ve enjoyed every second of the time I’ve spent with Fallout: New Vegas for a myriad of reasons I don’t have time to get into. Two, I’ve personally never seen New Vegas discounted this much before, especially considering this is a more “minor” Steam sale. The base game is on sale for $0.99, but I’m specifically recommending the Ultimate Edition because it’s a fantastic deal for the base game, all its DLC, and its soundtrack.
Sid Meier’s Civilization V Complete Edition | Discount: 89% | Sale Price (USD): $8.51
Don’t worry, you didn’t misread that – I’m recommending a Sid Meier’s Civilization game during a Steam sale that isn’t Civilization 6. Civilization 5 was my introduction to the Civilization franchise, so it’ll always hold a special place in my heart because of that. Even though its immediate successor has been discounted tons of times, this is the first time I’ve seen Civ 5 discounted anywhere near this much in quite some time. The base game is on sale for $2.99, but like Fallout: New Vegas, I’m highlighting Civ 5’s Complete Edition because it’s a screaming deal for this much content.
Doom (2016) | Discount: 80% | Sale Price (USD): $3.99
I don’t know what it is about games like the “new Doom trilogy,” and several unrelated games in the same vein, but something about playing as a huge, burly dude with all kinds of weapons that feel extremely satisfying to use always tickles my brain in just the right way. That’s one reason why my 2025 Game of the Year was Doom: The Dark Ages (which is also pretty deeply discounted). This first entry in the trilogy is a great way to try out shooters of this ilk if you’re not familiar with the genre, especially at this sale price.
Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor | Discount: 30% | Sale Price (USD): $9.09
If memory serves, this is the third time I’ve included Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor in one of my Steam sale recommendation roundups, and the second time I’ve done so since it launched out of Early Access. It’s no secret that I love Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, and I don’t plan to shut up about that any time soon. I don’t liberally award perfect ten-out-of-ten review scores to games I cover, but Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor easily earned that review score as far as I’m concerned. If you like the idea of high-fantasy Dwarven miners in a satirical, ultracapitalist environment, pick this one up.
Balatro | Discount: 20% | Sale Price (USD): $11.99
If you’ve spent basically any amount of time on the Internet lately, or even so much as spoken with anyone who has a Steam account, you probably don’t even need me to tell you why Balatro is more popular than Adderall during final exams. Balatro is a Rogue-like that takes almost everything you think you know about poker, turns it on its head, and expertly uses unexpected additions to the concept of poker that make its gameplay incredibly addictive and satisfying. This is the first time I’ve seen Balatro discounted to any extent, so I’m using that as an (unneeded) excuse to recommend it.
