Legacy of the Dark Knight Gets New Release Date

With several big releases this year (including Control Resonant), release dates are bound to shift around. I refuse to mention Rockstar’s next release; people talk about it enough already. Anyhow, a new release date shift is coming sooner than expected.

That’s right, folks, Warner Bros. and Traveler’s Tales Games have announced that Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight has a new launch date. Instead of May 29^th, it is releasing on May 22^nd, 2026. Here is what the press release says about the news:

“Holy good news, Batman! Warner Bros. Games announced LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will launch worldwide one week earlier on May 22, 2026, for PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store).

Pre-orders are available now for the Standard and Deluxe Editions of the game on the aforementioned platforms. Deluxe Edition pre-orders will receive 72-hour early access, now beginning on May 19, prior to the main launch on May 22. All pre-orders will receive The Dark Knight Returns Batsuit (at launch), inspired by the acclaimed comic book series.

Please note, the Nintendo Switch™2 version of the game will launch later in 2026. The Nintendo Switch 2 version is available to Wishlist now.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is an all-new open world action-adventure videogame that invites players to embark on Bruce Wayne’s epic journey to become the hero of Gotham City, inspired by decades of Batman films, television shows, comic books, and games, combined with DC lore and TT Games’ signature brand of fun-filled LEGO humor.”

As someone who is very excited about Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, I’m glad for the earlier release.
