To say the world is a bit messed up would be an understatement, but at least there are games, and they aren’t dark, grim, and focused on being a SWAT officer in fictional future LA. I won’t lie, I do play Ready or Not a sickening amount of the time when I get the chance, and a new DLC is the perfect excuse. It would just help if I knew about that DLC before it was surprise-announced, so I could get a request in early.
Announced yesterday in the Future Games Show – Spring Showcase, the “Boiling Point” DLC for Ready or Not is out now on PC and consoles. Here is what the press release notes:
“VOID Interactive revealed during the Future Games Show: Spring Showcase that the next DLC installment of Ready or Not, ‘Boiling Point’, is now available across Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S[,] and Epic. ‘Boiling Point’ centres around a critical point in the Ready or Not narrative, in which the relentlessly debased city of Los Sueños faces an existential crisis when a subversive terror attack severs any remaining faith in what’s become an ineffective and overwhelmingly militarized city government.
The DLC features three new missions: ‘No Good Deed,’ ‘All Gods Burn[,]’ and ‘A New America.’ In an exciting reveal for existing and new players, the brand-new missions will be playable in multiplayer lobbies for non-DLC owners if they join a host who has purchased the new DLC.”

The press release doesn’t go into a great amount of detail beyond that, and the list of DLC-related cosmetics you can pick up, which are already listed on the Steam store for those interested. It seems the new DLC maps, however, are three varied and interesting offers: A play on the Santa Monica Pier, a disused Bank in downtown, and what appears to be an embassy (Ecuadorian or Bolivian?), city hall, or maybe an art gallery?
With the release of “Boiling Point,” you can now pick up the DLCs in two separate bundles. The Deluxe Edition for $69.99/£59.99/€69.99 features the base game and all three DLCs, while the Mission Pass offers all DLCs for $19.99/£14.99/€19.99. The “Boiling Point” DLC is available standalone for $9.99/£8.50/€9.99. Alongside the release of this DLC, the press release also notes, “VOID are excited to roll out one of the most significant game patches since launch with over 200 bug fixes.” If comments online were to be believed, though, VOID Interactive is supposedly stamping on the heads of children with the lack of certain bug fixes.
