It will come as no surprise to those who have followed Phenixx Gaming for a while that I love a good RPG. As such, when I hear about an upcoming RPG that is inspired by some of my favorite games of yesteryear, I can’t help but take notice. Deck13 has revealed new information about an upcoming RPG slated for 2027.
Forge of the Fae now has a new trailer and a Steam demo. It is a Celtic-inspired take on classic JRPGs and is meant to give players a personal experience. Here is what the press release says about Forge of the Fae and its new trailer:
“Development on JRPG Forge of the Fae is steadily progressing, and the game looks better with each passing week! Today, Publisher Deck13 Spotlight and developer Datadyne want to give an update on the current state of the game and celebrate an important milestone – especially for those who backed the game during its time on Kickstarter.
While you are reading these words, the Alpha Build of the game has been sent out to a certain number of backers of the campaign, allowing them to dive into the world inspired by 1800s Ireland and experience the first third of the game for the very first time.

To celebrate this important milestone, we have prepared an all-new trailer, showcasing various enemies, boss fights, magical attacks, and a first listen of one of the fantastic combat music tracks. And there is even more, if you listen carefully.
Set in a world inspired by 1800s Ireland, Forge of the Fae plunges players into a beautifully crafted narrative where humans and fae are in conflict. As an ancient power awakens and tensions rise, players will follow the journey of Fiora, a young inventor, as she uncovers the secrets of her world, whilst navigating a complex mystery and discovering who she can become. Decisions made will influence the outcome, giving players control over the story’s direction and creating a more personal experience.

Drawing inspiration from classic JRPGs, Forge of the Fae features a deep turn-based combat system where strategy reigns supreme. Players will be challenged to master the ‘ARC Crystal System’ and “Adrenaline” systems, which offer versatile, customizable spells and abilities, adding depth and excitement to combat. Alongside the action, intricate puzzles scattered throughout the world encourage exploration and reward players with powerful items and hidden lore.”
The developers have stated that while Forge of the Fae will not release until sometime in 2027, they have new reveals slated throughout the year. In fact, the developers mentioned that later this month, more information will be revealed. I’m very excited to see more about Forge of the Fae, and I kind of wish I had known about its Kickstarter. Keep your eyes peeled for more details in the coming months.
