Earth Vs Mars available on Steam Deck

I’ve said it before, if there is anything that’s a bit like Advance Wars in any way, I’m all in. Turns out there was one that released last October with a touch more style to its overall battle map, but retains that Red vs Blue split-screen fight thing. Relic Entertainment and Relic Labs’s Earth Vs Mars is very much a Wars game (as the series is called), but unlike a lot of the imitators of the Nintendo series, there are some bits that are different, including the art style and camera in turn-based strategy battles. Now, you can take Earth Vs Mars on the go, mostly to the toilet for a two-hour poo.

This is what the press release has to say on the Steam Deck Verification for Earth Vs Mars: “Relic Entertainment is excited to announce that Earth vs Mars, the turn-based strategy title from Relic Labs, is now Steam Deck Verified, delivering a fully optimized handheld experience on Valve’s popular portable platform. To celebrate, Earth vs Mars is available now on Steam with a 40% discount, the biggest discount to date.

With Steam Deck Verified support, players can experience the full Earth vs Mars campaign, multiplayer[,] and versus modes on the go, featuring optimized performance, intuitive controls, and UI tailored for handheld play. Perfect for quick tactical sessions and longer strategic runs.“

Alongside the Steam Deck update comes the 1.2.0 update to the game itself, boasting:

Three new Splice-O-Tron creatures, including the Red Panda, the Beaver[,] and the Scoprion [sic]. These creatures introduce fresh hybrid unit combinations and tactical options.
Nine new commander passives, encouraging distinct playstyles and long-term strategic planning.

Earth Vs Mars is now available on PC via Steam for $14.99 USD (€13.99/£11.99) normally, but for now until next Thursday, the 26th, you can pick up Earth Vs Mars with a 40% discount.
