Love is in the air, folks, and this time I’m not talking about Valentine’s Day. No, today we’re digging into our love of gaming with another Sony State of Play showcase. Yesterday, Sony released a variety of new announcements, and I am here to put them in written form. Here is what Sony offered us in their February State of Play.

The showcase opened with a trailer for Emberlab’s newest project, a follow-up to Kena: Bridge of Spirits. Kena: Scars of Kosmora is an absolutely gorgeous-looking game, with what looks to be an incredible tale of rejuvenation and growth. Kena: Scars of Kosmora will be released sometime in 2026 for PC and PlayStation 5.

Following that awesome start, we’ve got a new DLC expansion for Ghost of Yotei. This time, it is a co-op multiplayer DLC that puts players in one of four classes, guiding them to take on demonic versions of the Yotei Six. The Ghost of Yotei: Legends DLC will be free to current Ghost of Yotei owners and will be available on March 10th.

Death Stranding 2 popped up next, this time with a PC announcement. The PC version will have upscaled visuals and all sorts of enhancements. The PC version will be available on March 19th, 2026.

Next up was a segment on 4Loop, which we saw last year. 4Loop is an “emergent 4-player co-op combat sandbox” where no two runs are ever the same. Long story short here, it’s a 4-player shooter roguelike with all sorts of survival and rescue elements. You can wishlist 4Loop now on PC and PlayStation 5, as upcoming beta tests will need testers. Admittedly, for a Sucker Punch announcement? I’m disappointed.

Another Pragmata trailer popped up next, this time showcasing a launch date. Pragmata will be released on April 24th, 2026. You can also play a Gameplay demo now.

Leon Kennedy took my screen next, with a Resident Evil Requiem segment. It’s not looking good for our handsome cop, but I’m excited to see what comes next. As a reminder, Resident Evil Requiem will be available on February 27th, 2026.

Next was an announcement that blew my mind. Legacy of Kain: Defiance is back! It is being remastered by Crystal Dynamics and is up for pre-order now. As someone who loved the Soul Reaver remasters, I’m very hyped for this.

Then a surprise was next. Brigandine Abyss was announced, which is the latest installment of the classic Brigandine franchise from the PS1 era. As a fan of classic strategy titles, I’m very intrigued to see how the franchise has developed. Brigandine Abyss is launching this year, though we don’t know much beyond that.

Next, time for the land of Ninjas and boobs, with Koei Tecmo’s Dead or Alive franchise. Dead or Alive 6: Last Round was announced, building on DOA 6 with DLC characters coming standard, along with offering new costumes, PS5 upgrades, and photo mode improvements. The game is also planned to have future updates and will feature a Free-to-Play version at launch. Last Round will be available on June 25th, 2026, but a new Dead or Alive game was also announced, cleavage shot and all.

Control Resonant was the next segment, and I am so excited I can hardly type this. Remedy Entertainment provided a gameplay preview, and I can hardly wait to get the game in my grubby little mitts. The combat looks intense and visceral, and I could honestly write a whole piece about the gameplay we saw during this segment. We still don’t have a release date, and it hurts my soul, but I’m so excited for Control Resonant.

Next up was an interesting action title called Crimson Moon. Other than a bit of action gameplay, we don’t know much yet. Crimson Moon is coming in 2026.

Beast of Reincarnation got a segment next, showing off a bit more gameplay. Coming August 4th, 2026, I can’t quite figure out how to describe this one. Stellar Blade meets Game Freak, I guess? It’s interesting. Your doggo can take a shower, though, which is cute.

Next is another exciting anniversary. Ubisoft is releasing Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition, offering 5 playable versions of the original game. There are new accessibility options, too, which means folks won’t be breaking controllers anymore. Seriously, the original Rayman is hard. Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition is releasing today! So go check it out. Physical releases will be available on June 26th.

Mina the Hollower popped up next. We’ve seen this for a while, and I’m excited for the PlayStation release. Mina the Hollower is coming sometime this Spring.

As an interesting announcement, a prologue to Neva is coming to PS5. Aptly titled Neva: Prologue, it will tell the story of how Alba and Neva first met. Neva: Prologue will be available on February 19th, 2026.

A tactical stealth title called Yakoh Shinobi Ops is up next. The dev team has ties to the classic Tenchu series, so this should be pretty good. This gory ninja game is slated to come to PS5 next year in 2027. I’m intrigued, but I want to see more.

Next was a gorgeous trailer for an intriguing new game by Krafton. You play as an anthropomorphic Rooster with two swords, taking on lizard-ish people? Nagas? I’m not sure of the proper phrase. They’re scaly and are apparently “Children of the Sea”. Anyway, Project Windless looks amazing, and I am ready for it. There’s no release date, but hopefully Summer Game Fest will tell us more.

Lucasfilm Games popped in to show something we saw at the Game Awards. We’re back Pod Racing baby! Star Wars: Galactic Racer is looking more and more like Burnout 3 meets Star Wars every time I see it, and I am excited. No release date yet, but it is (allegedly) coming in 2026, so hopefully we’ll know more soon.

Next up was the 007 First Light segment, with a May 27th, 2026 release date. The trailer showed the typical song and dance for Bond, including the “he’s a loose cannon” type of dialogue on repeat. If I wasn’t so tired of seeing this at showcases, I’d be more excited.

Konami dropped by for several surprises. The first was the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2. Containing Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, this offers two iconic games to modern hardware. This collection will be available on August 27th, 2026. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is also on sale for half off.

Konami also dropped a cute trailer for a demo for Darwin’s Paradox, an indie stealth title about an octopus, inspired by Metal Gear Solid. Darwin’s Paradox will be released on April 2nd, 2026.

Konami’s biggest surprise (in my opinion, anyway) was celebrating Castlevania’s 40th anniversary with a brand-new Castlevania title. Evil Empire and Motion Twin, the creators of Dead Cells, are working with Konami to create Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse. I’m so excited for this, I can hardly see straight. Belmont’s Curse is coming in 2026, and I’m so ready.

The next segment was an eerie, intriguing trailer for Silent Hill: Townfall. This trailer was pitch-perfect in tone, creepiness, and intrigue. Townfall is coming in 2026 and offers a first-person perspective, with creepiness and seemingly a different sort of tale than Silent Hill f.

Then Konami revealed a curious new game called Rev.Noir. It seems like an action RPG with a side of time loop shenanigans, and I’m into it. Rev.Noir is in development, with no release window set yet. I’m curious to see what else Konami reveals as the year progresses.

Saber Interactive also surprised us with a trailer for a John Wick game. It looks flashy and smooth, though there isn’t a release date or release window yet. You can wishlist it now, though.

Another surprise trailer came from Bungie, revealing new story elements for Marathon. There is a preview weekend from February 26th to March 2nd, so if you’re interested, keep an eye on it. It looks interesting if you’re into the survival shooter vibe. It will be launching in full on March 5th as well.

PlayStation Plus got a bit of a showcase next. While I’d love to share all those details here, for the sake of time, I’d recommend checking out the livestream itself for dates and specific tiers.

Big Walk got a little showcase here. This sandbox puzzle for multiplayer has Human Fall Flat vibes, but with cute bird(?) creatures. Big Walk is coming in 2026; no further release details are available.

Housemarque’s Saros showed up next. The shooter follow-up to Returnal is releasing on April 30th, 2026, and we got even more gameplay details. The permanent progression systems are interesting, and the introduction of NPCs should make it feel more lived-in than Returnal.

Marvel Tokon showed up next, with a stylistic trailer showing off Storm and the X-Men. Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls will be available on August 6th, 2026. Pre-orders start on February 19th, if you’re so inclined.

Santa Monica Studio dropped by with a big surprise. The God of War Trilogy has been reforged. God of War Trilogy: Remake was announced, and the original voice actor for Kratos is reprising his role for the blood-soaked stories that started it all. The project is in early stages, so we probably won’t see more for a little while. I’m excited all the same.

To hold us over, the team also provided a trailer for God of War: Sons of Sparta. This seems to be a metroidvania (possibly co-op) developed with Mega Cat Studios. It is a prequel to the earliest point of Kratos’ origins. It is available now!

With that surprise shadow drop, the February State of Play came to a close. There are a lot of great announcements and games coming. I think my biggest excitement for 2026 (aside from Control Resonant) has to be Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse. It’s good to see Konami working on things with the Castlevania IP again.
