Unsurprisingly, I know about as much about the stock market and trading as the writers of NCIS know about gaming and AI. That or the stock market writing for the third season of Yellowstone. Thankfully, I don’t need to be completely evil to get excited about Naiive‘s upcoming Rogue-like deckbuilder about insider trading, called Insider Trading. I guess points for naming, if nothing else.

This week, the studio announced the release date for Insider Trading, which has been on my wishlist since the first email declaring it, “Balatro Just Hit the Stock Market.” Here is what the press release says about Insider Trading and its release next month:
“Naiive Studio [on Tuesday] revealed that Insider Trading, a stock market-themed Rogue-like deckbuilder, will launch for PC via Steam on February 18th, 2026. Built around playable characters with unique mechanics and starting decks, each run is shaped by drafting market-moving cards, perks, and events that create price swings and runaway momentum. Pushing your luck can send profits soaring, but unchecked greed creates risk just as quickly. Success often comes down to knowing when to keep pushing and when to cash out before the market turns hostile. In Insider Trading, the price going up is not always a good thing.“

It continues on, “Unlock strange character decks and shape each run with 12 card types and over 120 cards to collect. Experiment with 50 perks, including cursed perks with risky drawbacks, to create powerful synergies or gamble on high-stakes strategies. The full release features 6 difficulty levels, catering to both casual players and hardcore strategists.”
Developer Naiive notes: “I wanted to make a deckbuilder where the market itself is your opponent. A huge part of shaping Insider Trading came from feedback during the demo, and seeing so many people and content creators spend time with it was incredibly motivating. That response helped guide the direction of the full release, and I’m excited for everybody to finally experience where the game landed.“

I’ll admit, I didn’t think from the description of “a stock-themed Rogue-like deckbuilder” that Insider Trading would have excited me. However, the balance between pushing your luck and your gain feels like a good balance of risk and reward that Insider Trading wants to strike. Not exactly Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator‘s level of headaches either, from the art direction standpoint, which I can only be grateful for.
Insider Trading will release on Steam on February 18th, 2026. Of course, no word on other platforms or even intentions in that direction, so don’t expect that announcement anytime soon. You can check out the demo for Insider Trading before launch in February now.
